Doujinshi, also known as 'fan-made manga' by a person or a group of people. It may not even be manga. Quite a fair bit of it is sex-related, and they usually use the characters from an official published series in their fan-made manga.

In Western cultures, dōjin are often perceived to be derivative of existing work, analogous to fan fiction.
