I usually like this type of mc.

The Ruler of the land - Martial arts genius, can easily imitate moves

Slam Dunk - Self proclaimed tensai(genius), but even his coach acknowledges it later on

Negima - 10 year old super genius teacher... I don't really like him and his fetish for looking for his dad.

Last Inning - Baseball coach knows the ins and outs of everything baseball, former koshien catcher that can predict a lot of outcomes of games

Hajime no ippo - Well not really a genius, except his coach just says he is a prodigy of hard work, so he just really works hard

Denpa Kyoushi - Genius, that only studied hard to be smart so he could try make a doraemon door

Shokugeki no Soma - 15 year old that has to go to chef school because his dad said so, he is really good at cooking compared with the others at school

Touch - one of Adachi's best manga, mc is an under achiever but when he tries hard he is really awesome

Shuukyuu Shoujo - mc is genius at soccer, he is pretty cool when he playing soccer, this is ecchi manga though but the soccer action is good

Ahiru no Sora - another of the "hard worker" genius types, kinda like ippo. But this story is pretty good, a short person trying to play basketball. (It isn't unheard of short people playing basketball, Spud Webb is 5'7'' and could dunk amazingly so, he even won dunk contest in nba). Anyway the hardworker genius types are my favorites

MAGiCO - Soccer manga, it is pretty awesome, this mc is amazing soccer player, too bad there no scanlations apart from chapter 1, mabye it got licensed im not sure

Area no Kishi - MC has innate soccer skills in which he has to overcome difficulties to bring out.
Smash! - MC is skilled at badminton and develops his skills throughout the manga.
Inu Neko Jump - MC is known as being a "long jump specialist" in track and field.
Open Sesame - He's a skilled boxer with championships, but it doesn't have a major impact on the main story.
Shindere Shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami - MC has the ability to solve crimes and such without much effort.
Iris Zero - MC's ability is much like the one from Shindere shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami.
Magician (Kim Sarae) - One of the main characters, has godlike magical abilities.

Aku no Hana - MC has the natural ability to go batshit crazy.
