im looking for a manga that involves a dorky nerdy guy, who for some reason maybe for love or whatever tries to become someone totally different from what he is to another person... and becomes smart, atheletic, talented, popular with girls, etc...

I think i know a lot of mangas that you are looking but i can't seem to remember maybe i'll put it on later but the one i do remember is History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. It is about some nerd guy who was being bullied a lot and decide that enough is enough and started to change via martial arts. 🙂

Oh i just remember another one but it is a manhwa hope u are ok with that it's called The Breaker. Plot wise, it is quite similar with HSDK save the art but still a good read though 😎 .

Ohhh... another one just come to mind, Onihime VS and if i'm not mistaken this one is also a manhwa 😛
