I'm on a mermaid/(people) spree 😀
What I have so far are Eyvione and Selfish Mr. Mermaid.

In particular there was one I read a while back that I think was a Shonen Ai. The Merman became a human (because he fell in love with the guy?) and his fellow merman came up on land and turned into a human as well because he fell in love with a guy too (the first human's friend?). I thought it was Selfish Mr. Mermaid, but I've read the first book so far and it doesn't seem to be... Any ideas on what the title is??

I'm not sure what that is but i can recommend a mermaid manga/anime. It's called Mermaid's Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. To sum it up, it's Sailor Moon crossed with mermaids and a sprinkle of KH. I laughed so hard at the Sailor Moon simliarites.
There's superhero transformations, love, lame but amusing villians, songs, laughs, and cuteness. You should check it out.

The title you're looking for might be Mister Mermaid (no, it's not the same as Selfish Mr. Mermaid ^^) ; but I can't be sure 'cause I haven't read it.

As for suggestions...Kaikisen fits. Elemental also has something like that, but it's only a one-shot.

I think you should check out the mermaid and merman categories as well.

Wasurene no Language is absolutely beautiful. :] It's a one-shot though.

I would have thought Mermaid Saga to be one of the first listed in this thread. But then again the mermaids are antagonists and monsters...

If I recall it correctly Wild Fish fits the bill. But its been awhile.
