well Mangatraders.com labeled Ubell Blatt Harem in their info so it got me wondering?..

is it harem? or not?

well so far all i know is that all Koinzells followers/partners is well all females..and yes some of them are willing to sacrifice their life for him.
but i think its a sense of loyalty/pity that they are willing to..i don't think its enough to be called a harem..yes one of them had s** with him and loved it/maybe the reason she's following him/ but its not a romantic thing xP. so in conclusion i wouldn't call it harem but rather a drama xP...

First is no but there is some harem atmosphere in the manga its safe to say there are at least to women who like koinzell.

Well, of course, it is. And so is, obviously, Berserk. Gutts has a harem of a witch-tsundere, a zealot-turned-witch-yandere, a catatonic tsundere, a tsundere-fairy, a tsundere-trap-fairy, a shota-trap and a gay bishounen sex slave. Of course, that doesn't count the yandere demon overlord, Griffith, and the sexy seductress Slann who both want a certain piece of Gutts not to mention the myriad of damsels in distress.
Despite it's sexual content, which is the most important aspect of this epic tale, Its lack of moe-diversity makes Berserk a subpar story, though, and we can only hope that the inspiration Miura will get from his eroge experience will enable Berserk to finally get some depth.

yup most harem manga focus on some how the female characters develop/gain interest on male protagonist or you can say the story goes like that while there is only a minor details like this in ubel batt

Harem by orignial definition was a place where women lived and men were forbidden to enter. Modern definition means a group of women who follow one man. Now the problem lies if we are to use the modern version of the definition or the anime 'genre' version. In anime/manga harem, there are usually 3 or more females who are (usually) trying to get the attention of the one single guy in the circle. That part is the obvious. What isn't obvious are three things - 1. all the girls (or a portion of them) are considered part of the main characters and 2. every girl is given strong development of personalities (likes and dislikes) and given a storyline (doing something specifically with the guy or alone with the guy). The last part is something important I think all harem provides. At certain points in the story, we sit back and go "What if he chooses ****** ?" Good harem series goes back and forth between who we think the 'center' person will choose. Also, sometimes, given that if not one character but another character was present, the story would change drastically to whom the 'center' character would get involved with(and the path to fanfics).

As i feel there is no set definition out there, I believe the tag of harem for Ubel Blatt is correct, but to answer the question of if i believe this series is a harem, I must vote no. Do we know anything about Peepi? We don't even know her real name. Would Altea help Koinzell like Ato did? I don't believe so.

but what i really find funny is i had actually had the same thought as i finished the latest chapter - it DOES appear that our hero has aquired a following of lovely ladies but as was mentioned previously - since it is not really romantic it is not truly harem
