Plot centred around relationship
Light read

Cliche characterisations and plot:
—> Contractual marriage
—> Typical ML (insults, cold, dismissive, emotionally stunted)

Cute but ...?

So the first bunch of chapters are mostly just about the cuteness of the daughter. She's really cute.
Then we start getting into themes of abuse.
I'll admit, the history of the male lead was very unexpected, and I feel for the guy.
More recently, I do like how we're getting backstory on the female lead and her life with her old family and possible intrigue with them.
It feels like this story is picking up..but we're also 100 chapters in so it's up to whether that's worth your time.

Don't get me wrong. I am enjoying this. But I also accept it does very little that's new.

Maybe try it and if the cuteness of the beginning is enough, you'll pull through to where we currently are.

Saccharine, cute art

This is another pretty silly series that starts with the main character dying from overwork. Is this a meme in Korea or a real problem ? >.>

Anyway, the series is full of fluff and is quite pretty to look at. Characters and plot are very basic. Think cliche teen drama.

The main conflict after 20 chapters is the FL and ML being too embarrassed to say they like each other even though they are in their 30's and already married and it is entirely obvious even to an 11 year old girl and a 2 year old magical mirror.

For ML it is because he is spineless really ( his somewhat difficult past is pretty unrelated to this, the past only explains why he didn't like her at first, plus treatment of daughter and it isn't a great explanation), and for the FL it is because she has an extremely low self-esteem due to originally being fat and living in a reality where mean people exist.

If you can ignore this and just look at the pretty colors then the series is calming. It probably works best if you read around 3-5 chapters at a time since that is the length of the "arc", concluding on some warm family moment, and since it didn't take long, you haven't lost too many brain cells yet.

I used to like this due to the whole deal with her friend and the kid, but, as usual, the romance is actively horrible. It's just another one of those "Romance cliches 101 for dummies, Explain Like I'm 5 edition" copy pasters. And the kid gets pretty much forgotten after that whole deal has been resolved. Sigh. At least it's not toxic, so there's that...

The young princess is way too adorable. It's completely understandable that her stepmom is so fond of her.

I wish they'd spend more time doting on her than sidelining the title character for some meaningless drama surrounding the queen, king, and other minor characters.

Characters- 8/10 at start but after chapter 40 it's 4/10
Story - 5/10
Started out good with witty FL and Cold ML with adorable ML's daughter and her antics to win her affection.
But
As the story progresses it turned into this cringe infested story with 3rd rate Clumsy ML 3rd Shy I'm not from this world so I'm not gonna love you acting FL and never have any dailogues daughter.
Just drop it after 30 or so chapters if u wanna enjoy.

I adore this fresh take on a classic fairy tale. I've always had a soft spot for evil queens and its great basically seeing one get a redemption arc. It's also nice to imagine how different a snow white like character (since this technically isn't snow white) would be if she just had parents to love and care for her. The FL is smart and supports women. She struggles with body issues sometimes because of her past life and refuses to let those same body image issues be pushed onto a child. I really enjoy her both as a mother like character and a romantic character to the king who obviously has some sort of unknown trauma towards women. The art alone is incredibly beautiful and makes it worth reading. I have high hopes for this one. I'm really excited to see how it ends. I'm really thankful for the english scanlators.
