The first volume was good, but hard to get into. I saw it to be slow and boring, and only stuck to it because of the art. As you may notice by the rating, it was worth it. I fell in love with this good old fashioned fantasy story.
Setting:
This manga shows fantasy as it truly is. A sense of exploring a new world full of wonders, history, and culture. The amount of details the author put into this is huge, such that every place has a story.
Characters:
One of my favourite things about this manga. The characters are so diverse and realistic. No Cliché, pre made template characters that are as empty as the Sahara desert. MC is awesome too, I find my self sympathising with the him, sad for when he struggles and proud when he Succeeds (motherly love?).
Art:
I bought the volumes for it. Stopped before V5 because I want to appreciate the beauty in the best possible way. Now I have to hold back from reading it online, it's a nightmare. Anyway the art is super good(Landscapes, cultural clothings, cultural housings, architectures, relics, and characters) all top notch.
I didn't give it a 10/10 because of two things
- Foreshadowing spoilers? (Ex not from this story but the same idea "little did they know that this letter would flip the whole world and cause a great war in the future" just stop talking and show me the war in the future) don't spoil your own story for gods sake.
- Nothing mind blowing or unexpected, It is a predictable story. Not entirely a negative but it is something I didn't like.
