I'm still reading it and working on my review but:
Okay so it is a debut story and I have to say what really shined was the art. The writing/story could have been better but I enjoyed the work either way. I think the two main couple were great (personality wise) but also there were a few inconsistencies especially in season 2 (regarding their personalities, actions, etcetera). But this is a debut work so I can't be too harsh because uh hello, it's not like I have ever published a webtoon either. I think I would recommend it if you are looking for a BL webtoon featuring two very wholesome, positive non-toxic relationship with a somewhat predictable ideas of what mind happen during the story, featuring no angst, no huge conflicts and lots of communication at certain points after misunderstandings are usually cleared up. I wonder if we are going to get side chapters in the future?
Spoiler regarding who are our two main couples for the two separate seasons:
Season 1 focuses on the main couple: the writer/roommate and the next door nice, hot pink haired neighbor (who also might be the ex boyfriend of his roommate)
Season 2 focuses on the 2nd couple, enemies(?) to lovers trope, also featuring misunderstandings and the ex boyfriend with the dark blue hair.
Some gripes about the story itself:
Regarding: inconsistencies (the characters personalities, their actions), writing, the length of the series, fleshing out the characters,
Inconsistency:
In season 1, we the readers get introduced to the main characters. For example, the Season 2 top male lead and the ex-boyfriend dark blue haired guy. The dark blue haired ex-boyfriend is introduced as a cold, scary (as mentioned by pink haired top), indifferent, stone faced guy. but then in season 2 he's suddenly surprisingly sociable, smiles a lot (business smile) and actually wants to approach Minjae, his ex boyfriend....We are also told the ex-boyfriend made Minjae cry SO much after the breakup because he was so afwul and such a terrible person yet...the flashbacks of them before the ex-boyfriend went abroad wasn't so bad....? And then in season 2 he suddenly seems to be interested in Minjae again??? While in season 1 he was like damn are you still upset about the past. Now in season 2 he's more...goofy? And the type of guy who likes to get in people's way because it's fun.
Overall I wish the author had kept the character consistent for example: had kept the dark blue haired boyfriend cold, calculating, scary, awful asshole of a person who made Minjae suffer and cry a lot in the past. But also had kept the season 2 top as someone who SLOWLY opens up in the season 2 from a poker faced, indifferent loner type of guy who is actually interested in the bottom character who then turns into someone who has a cute personality around Minjae but still a cold loner attitude with any other person.
The relationship developments:
Minjae's new potentialbf The relationship development (no room...a bit sudden mostly the second couple) although love works in mysterious ways and you're like I just wanna date then since they are cute. Sometimes it's the simple reasons that makes you like someone and want to date them.
Thus leads me to: the length of series (amount of chapters in total):
It's funny because I thought that the series could have benefit ted by having more chapters than the two seasons of total chapters. Are there going to be more side stories? I feel like the relationship development happened so fast with the second couple? It felt organic but the sudden forced personality change (which does happen in stories) with the Season 2 top felt....that could have been better.
It's also funny because I thought it dragged in some parts, writing wise. It was kind of strange how self aware EVERY single person was (the four main characters). Like for example the Season 2 top...I felt I started losing a bit of interest towards the half of season 2...I think more chapters could have been good to flesh out slowly the personality changes...(especially Season 2 top).
