A bunch of orphan kids, with the oldest heir being only 15, is in charge of a massive clan. It's not going well.
To start it all off all of the kids, except FMC, are adopted. None of them apparently has any Namgung blood...at all? This makes more sense as to why the kids were under constant attack and not a single Namgung adult cared.
The only reason they stuck around despite never seeing each other as siblings, barring the "twins", is because the former Head of Namgung asked them to care for FMC.
So, how did the kids show this care?
They all decided ignoring the FMC, an infant at this point, was the best way to protect her. So, all of her previous life she lived believing 200% that her family hated her.
Yikes.
One kid, known as the most "brilliant strategist" of the family in the future, makes an insane plan to poison themselves for years with the Heir's full knowledge and permission. It's not the same poison as the one the elders sent to get rid of the kid so now damn near everyone is confused about what's happening and why, including the reader.
Uh, okay, so the above plot is sort of being explained/maybe bearing fruit in ch 15.
Another kid, a 15 yrs old girl and "fraternal twin" to the Heir, willingly walked into danger fully knowing it's dangerous and expects...what? Almost no adults sharing their last name is supportive or even neutral towards them. The one who comes in to save her and FMC clash swords with their abuser/kidnapper/future murderer is...another child. A sword prodigy, yes, but he's a literal child.
That is her back up? That is who made her confidently walk into the trap?! That kid is even younger than her!
In the process of trying to save FMC and the sister, the sword prodigy brings another kid, the Dang Clan Heir who's likely in the single digit age range, to...do what? Save the sister and FMC? By literally screaming accusations at full volume? So, of course, these two brats are found, captured and tossed into a cell next to the two girls.
Oh, and kudos to the bad guys.
During the above mess it's actually nice that they wore very distinctive insignias and clothing designs. FMC managed to snatch up a ripped off piece of their clothing with a pattern on it, in the middle of a sword fight no less, as a baby in someone else's arms who was not part of the fight, just so she could give it as evidence later. Good job, bad guys.🤦
Wow. The unbelievably stupid chain of events is...a choice.
I'm giving these kids a lot of slack though because, well, they're kids. However, I want FMC taken away from these little idiots pronto. Goddamn are they aaaall incompetent and suicidal as hell.
All that said I'm continuing to read. They're children and they act like it, even though they really don't have the luxury or even time to be as naive as they are. I like that aspect. I want to read as they mature, learn and grow from their mistakes...hopefully.
As for the translations: translator can't decide on anyone's gender OR family relationship. The Dang elder is both "grandfather" and "uncle" which has some seriously gross implications if true. (Is it even possible to be both by blood?) The Dang Heir is both "he" and "she". The Strategist kid is referred to as both "she" and "he". FMC gets the same treatment, being referred to as "he" a few times per chapter.
It changed within the chapter, too. These kids were not crossdressing at any point so far. There should not be any plot-related gender confusion. Seriously, wtf.
It's the prince who crossdresses deliberately to go outside as a child.
