Description

University employee Ryouichirou is ordered by the Chairman to take in an exchange student.

This one has haunted me for years and I can't believe that it's still one of the best-regarded yaois. The Indigenous character acts like a dumb brute, running around like a 'savage'. Even just considering the quality of the story it sucks. Google colonization or orientalism to understand just how dominant groups (The Japanese author, in this case) are able to sell you on these horrible caricatures with little to no backlash because the mass audience is not educated enough to be disgusted by its bs.

I go back and read this manga at least once a year and everytime I do I squeal and blush and drool at the art style as if it's the very first time all over again.

It's simple, sweet, there's no annoying love triangles, and the love scenes are drawn so beautifully...it's seriously a work of art.

I'm not saying it's the most profound piece of literature in the world, but it's something you can relax and read comfortably if you want to feel butterflies hehe

First of all, this manga has top-tier art style (as expected of Kyugou-sensei). Secondly, the plot is really sweet and unique. What I most definitely like was that time when Qaltaqa cut his long braided hair and the children of Lutah made it an accessory for his bride, Ryou.Bride were after all expected to make an accesory out of it as proof that they accepted their love.It was a custom of Lutah men to offer a part of their long hair as it signifies soul and body itself before the sun sets.(So freaking romantic 😭😍) Ryou cut his own hair as well and made it into a wedding ring which was the very first wedding ring of Lutah. Ryou suggested it since he has shorter hair and because, they were married, alright 😭Gosh, I almost flipped on this scene because it's too sweet! The seme and uke is a fated pair and I won't shut up how perfect they are towards each other! I love Aqnam's character too along with their father, Jiltana-san. Majority of the Lutah people aren't prejudiced too! The children are so adorable!

Will re-read this insanely sweet and moving BL manga over and over again😭😍

I've read tons of BL manga/hwa/huas but this is one of the best that is really well-written and so lovely that you can't help but fell in love 🤍

THIS WAS SO CUTE AND SO WHOLESOME AND SO ROMANTIC. I loved it.

I LOVED THE BITING TOO I HAVE A KINK FOR IT AT SOME POINT ILL GO BACK AND SAVE ALL THE BITING PAGES ANDD AND RHE HAIR OFFERING PAGES THEY MADE MY HEART FLUTTER.

Pretty art and the seme is gorgeous but that's it.

I was very conflicted with the age gap, the language nuance, the romanticization of love (as in no real development), a very fast paced plot...

All in all, just not enough substance, if you're into light and quick stories this is for you.

The sex is great. Enzou has always been good at drawing smut scenes.

The storytelling was a bit rush towards the end. I felt as if Qaltaqa felt responsible for having sex with Ryou and thus married Ryou.

The art was lovely, which I appreciated. The story was sort of cute I. Spots and pretty racist in other places, so it wasn’t my favorite. I think it could have been handled better. The end was also pretty rushed. Definitely better than most average manga, but it had a lot of potential and didn’t quite get there.

i'm not sure what the fascination is with "dark-skinned tribal dude" tropes but they're never really stories that i think are done well or find enjoyable/memorable. it would've been nice if he was an exchange student learning japanese, something that is relatively common now. i don't know why he had to be from a tribe when the general "language barrier" comedic attempt would be present... anyway, the art was nice but i wouldn't read this again. it was really fast paced, had very little character development for qaltaqa. we didn't really get to see him struggle with concepts in our modern everyday lives, so that felt strange (i mean, his brother automatically went to check in at the airport like it was second nature...? ok lmao)
anyway, interracial couples are rare, but well-done ones are truly scarce or, dare i say, inexistent.

I really loved this Manga, because it was a different take on the Yaoi stories I have read so far. It has a little bit of everything and Qaltaqa is super sexy, as well as beautiful. I would most definitely read it again!

I just read it today, and agree with other manga fans, it has it's pros and cons. Both guys are cute as heck and the plot was interesting. But the ending left me hanging. I know this is yaoi fantasy since most primitive cultures are not very accepting of the alternative lifestyle. Since many cling to traditional values, but I could be wrong.
