Description

Eden City, the second Las Vegas and a place where all pleasures of this world converge. Sarin comes to Eden City, trying to find the biological father of her niece, Hayan, using the diary of her twin sister, Irin, who died in a car accident. Along the way, Sarin encounters Owen, the king of Eden City.

Though frightened by Owen’s forceful attitude and the strange gaze that seems to desire her, Sarin chooses to stay by his side for the sake of her niece, Hayan. Summary review (first 25 ch):

Dobermans are awesome and they appear frequently, +5 points
Despite her tough upbringing, MC is naïve, ignorant, and is slow to grasp the situation around her... EXCEPT for very specific moments when she's almost OOC quick in her observations
Decent art with hot ML, +1 point
Awful (basically drop-worthy for me) smut, featuring:

cringe-worthy dirty talk by the chatty ML

an almost orgasm from nothing but a nipple pinch

no lead in before they suddenly remove their own clothing and have intercourse

MC needing to be told that a bj means she has to use her mouth

The MC keeps getting distracted from the main reason she is even there. The premise of the story and what the MC does are not aligned

Dropped. Just couldn't get past the awful smut. Subtracting 2 points from my total, leaving 4/10

All below are my previous thoughts:

Alright, I started reading this because Doberman Pinschers are my favorite breed of dog. This manhwa delivers on the dobermans!!! There's 3 of them and they are part of almost every chapter! That's worth 5 points right there.

For the story itself, gotta say the FL is pretty dumb. There are a couple key moments when her observations were particularly astute, but other than that she does not listen well and can't grasp what environment she's in. Part of it is explained away by her poor background and the (mis)information she was working of off. Doesn't make it less annoying though.

The ML.... I would have him wreck me any day or night (update: he sucked the 1st time they fucked, so nvm, he's now eye candy only) . He's scary, unreadable, violent, unstable, neurotic, and so sexy. The sexiest thing about him is that he does not force sex on her. He takes a step back, respectfully. He is waiting for her to consent. However, this is a smut manhwa, so it wouldn't be complete without boundaries being pushed or

making her watch while he jerks off from looking between her legs. When he licked off the little bit of cum that got onto her PJs and swallowed it.... Ugh so hot

I'm 20 episodes in and there's a corny "twist" that made me laugh in "was not expecting this trope to pop up".

It's fine. It's trying to be gritty but to me it fails a bit. Probably due to the fact that there's no way ML can run a city and still have so much free time.

It's entertaining, but the work as a whole is "meets expectations" and not more. When the entertainment value goes down, I'll ammend my review.

Update: First smut scene is hella disappointing. There was no mood setup. It was very "we are going to have sex now. Take off your clothes". Then he pinches her nipples and that turns her on immediately without anything else?!? She's over 30 years old and doesn't know how blowjobs work? She had to be told to use her mouth. I get that she is a virgin, but that's not an excuse for such ignorance. He thrusts his giant dick in and pounds away without letting her get used to it. The dirty talk was awful.

The whole situation seemed forced/contrived (as in out of character for both them and didn't fit naturally in the story).

Frankly, this is almost drop worthy for me. Bad biology irks me. Yes this is present in so many smuts, but the whole almost orgasm response from having nothing done but her nipples pinched was too nonsensical.

I also forgot to mention in first review that the established plot and the direction of the story are not aligned. She's so easily distracted by her environment. Like, why didn't she send the money the moment she got it?
