I was not expecting this manga to be as funny as it's turning out to be. I've read the available chapters up to 11 and was wheezing at one point in every chapter.
It's a GREAT comedy slapstick thing for 2016. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for updates.
Now... I'm not sure why it's in the Romance category.
The female lead is probably 17 or 18. The male lead is 35. She forcefully becomes the detective's assistant and the manga follows their stupid and hilarious hijinks on the cases they take on. There have only been like 3 cases where it seems she might have a crush on him, but nothing concrete. For example, she was cleaning up and he left his detective jacket on the floor. She looks around to make sure she's alone and then steps closer to smell it. At this point, in a typical romance manga, you'd expect her to murmur his name in a daze or marvel at the scent... What really happens is she almost ends up vomiting from the smell of tobacco and such.... There is a time where she thinks she's going to stumble upon a corpse and she barges in with a bravado of a pro even though she's never seen a dead body, and the male lead comes up from behind and shields her eyes to keep her from witnessing such a strong image at her youthful age.
They seem more like Bros! So if age gap isn't your thing, you'll love it.
One thing that nearly turned me off was 1) the cover art. The girl looks so moe in it... Gross. 2) When the female lead is introduced, I got the dreaded feeling she was going to be the target of a bunch of ecchi-shots. She has a fantastic figure. Nice hips, big boobs... but after their initial meeting where he gets a glimpse up her skirt after he's fallen to the floor from his bad hip, she's not really used as fanservice bait. She does PLENTY of the action stuff with her youthful vigor, but she's never drawn in a way that emphasizes her body for male readers. She's so funny, too. I like that the author treats both the female and male leads as humorous people and not "the guy is funny and the girl is the straight-man breaking up the fun".
