Don't judge this manhwa from only the first 2 chapters.

The author tells survival story from a good POV, that what human needs start from basic things such as food and water (physiological needs), and going up to security, love, etc (Maslow Hierarchy Of Needs).

And as other reviewers has stated, Gi-Tae (the MC) was really badass. After all he went trough, i feels like the author did well with empowering him, while still make him human (as in, he doesn't recover immediately, but it took progress), and we certainly can see how broken he was at a certain point. But his story sure is endearing to read.

If you only read the first 2 chps, you might wonder why on earth this many people give 10/10 socres and accuse these people to have some weird taste on yaoi manhwa, but please do give this manhwa a read until the end! It was really worth it.

This is, by far, my favorite webtoon/manhwa I've ever read. Gitae is such a bad*ss protagonist, and the story had me by the throat the entire way. Boy, does the author know how to draw attractive men.

It's an absolute must-read, and when (when, not if, because I'll lose my mind if this never gets officially translated) it gets a western release, I'm gonna be one of the first in line.

I audibly 'aww'd at least twice while reading. The relationship between Jihoon and Gitae is so sweet that I couldn't not mention it here. Their banter is top-tier. The way Jihoon, despite being incredibly socially stunted, realizes that when they first had sex it was under dubious circumstances and feels guilty, shows just how good of a guy he is. The guy literally didn't know what sex was at the time, much less consent, but he still realized what he did was wrong and respected Gitae enough to apologize and take responsibility for what he'd done.

And Gitae's perspective on all of the abuse he's suffered was really really refreshing. He knows that what he experienced only shows how terrible the people who did it to him are. He knows it doesn't make him any weaker, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. But he's still human, so he struggles with telling Jihoon his past, probably due to not wanting to bring up something so painful to someone he's just beginning to care for. I could yap forever about these two, but I'll stop here.

Overall, if I could wipe my mind and read Windowless Room fresh, I would. Since that's not an option, I'll just have to be content with re-reading it until an official English release comes.

Tbh if the author's given a chance they should expand on this. It's a typical apocalyptic story sure but their understanding of how people survive is slightly different than the others that it stands out.

Really love the story and the characters, just wanted to see how gitae would react knowing that jihoon was all alone in that place as a kid :((

With the 6 chapter continuation after the original 5 chapters, the whole piece really comes together nicely. I love the ending.
