A man stumbles upon a particularly arrogant slave...
46 Chapters (Complete)

It has some really unexpected turns which help the quality of the sotory somewhat
Also i really did not expect the twists to be so drastic, it really is a new change of pace compared to other manga slop
Hamita cooks some very strange things, but just because something is unusual or has a bunch of twists in it doesn't really mean it's good. Maybe he wrote himself into a corner or lost interest (yet again), but this time chose to actually end it instead of leaving it unfinished, like that book girls story.
I don't even get why this series shifted genres, it's like he got bored of writing a dark comedy / ran out of slave jokes and then on a whim, decided to turn it more serious with some shock value moments because he enjoys writing that more. Then he was just winging it until he decided he didn't want to write it anymore and made this... ending. Truly an ending for sure. One of the endings of all time.
Had some interesting and amusing moments to be fair, but... it's just mediocre in the end. I know Hamita is known for the unhappy endings, but there really isn't some satisfying payoff waiting at the end either to have made this little journey worth sitting through. I already expected this wasn't gonna end well, but okay, sure...
Not gonna lie, i admit i saw the word slave in the title and i immediately thought oh it's just one of the many mangas out there where the master treats the slave kindly then they fell in love etc. It's funny of how they do the tsukkomi (straight man) jokes but it got serious and pretty dark very early in the manga.
But damn i did not expect the twists, it makes it hard for you to predict what's gonna happen in the story because of the mc's situation in the most recent chapter.
Bruh didn't expect it to end that quick in that way and i was a bit confused as to what happened at the end so i had to google reddit for an explanation.
Surprised I actually laughed a few times.
It's a manzai comedy.
Straight man master and funny woman slave.
The slave is arrogant but also takes things to the extremes in awareness of herself as low class than a commoner.
the comedy comes from the gap between her awareness of her status and how confident/arrogant she is.
Part of the comedy is also dark comedy from her life of poverty now becoming a life of ...average.
e.g. one joke has
her given a pair of shoes and she promises to eat them sparingly Which is both funny but sad.
edit: turns out there's untranslated extra page on a few chapters behind a paywall where
they have sex but I have no idea if they're canon
