Description

im a trash for liking obsessive mls but i srsly cant take the ml in the series seriously. hes a red flag in a way that leaves a huge distaste behind. my favourite part in this manwha was the part when he regrets his actions. but even that felt underwhelming since it didnt last that long with the new timeline change and all. would agree that the ending is meh since it felt that alot of things werent really explained/fleshed out well like (im still kinda confused what happened during the final boss battle? like it seems like chiwoo sacrificed himself to save hwan? what caused the timeline change? is the new timeline some kind of alternative universe..?)

my plus points would be that the art is amazing. i loved the character designs and even some of the monsters looked kinda hot. the magical boy concept idea is pretty interesting too! though i was tempted to drop a few times cause of hwan alone

what the heck was that😕?? the ml is just a shit person, no other explanation. I've never read a manhwa with an obsessive ml and was SO AGAINST THEM BEING TOGETHER as I was here. He was just god awful person on so many levels. AND THE ENDING? SHIT! LIKE WHAT! What am i suppose to do?? Say awww and hope they get married and have 5 kids and a dog? BLEH

Ending it here is frustrating

The story has potential to be much more decent if there was more to it. It ended in a way that makes you think there's got to be a sequel coming bc there's hardly any proper closure. It's almost not worth reading to just have it end like that.

Another cmmt has their relationship wrong. Hwan and Chiwoo technically still don't end up together bc Hwan wants to work on himself to become a better man before getting into a relationship with Chiwoo. But Chiwoo was attracted to him when they meet again in the new timeline(?). He asked Hwan out but Hwan rejected him bc of the prior reasons I wrote.

At the end, they've been friends for about a month in this new timeline, and Jin is reintroduced (I think he's real now, maybe? Idk, bc Moony is also around and is hinted to have messed with Hwan's life too), with Chiwoo calling him handsome. And that's it. Tho the end does hints that Hwan is handling his feelings of jealousy better.

The new timeline, that happened bc Chiwoo sacrificed himself to save Hwan, does relatively well in giving Hwan a redemption arc, but it's so rushed and is unsatisfying in how open-ended their relationship is. But what absolutely sucks is that Chiwoo has no memories of any of the original timeline whatsoever.

It's like we, the readers, lost the main character (the new timeline is largely told from Hwan's POV). It feels really unfair that the Chiwoo who suffered had to disappear in order to become happy/content with his life.

And then there's Sunny (and Moony) starting this whole magical boy ordeal with a completely new character, whom we don't see anything more abt.

I just feel like this series needs a sequel bc the way it ended could only be satisfying if the author was planning for one.

It's good for the smut if you're looking for that, esp with a fresh concept (the whole magical boy thing). It's not a bad story but it can be frustrating, particularly if not having proper closure bothers you.

Also, beware 2nd ML syndrome (tho the open end may give you a little hope if that's how you want to interpret things).

I’ve never regretted spending money on a manhwa so much

So the English ver. of the final chapter of this comic just dropped and I kind of couldn’t believe it. It was already turning into a confusing mess halfway through the comic, but Sagold decided to end it abruptly and tie up absolutely no loose ends. The chapter is a flashforward where Hwan and Chiwoo end up dating, Jin somehow comes back to life, and Sunny begins to terrorize a new human. Absolutely no questions are answered, and Chiwoo continues to remain in the dark about Hwan’s true nature.

The most upsetting thing about this comic is that I had been following it since it first came out. For three years, I was paying money three times a month to read the next chapter, only to be disappointed this badly in the end. This isn’t a clash of preference; Sagold really just ended the comic at chapter 69 without it actually being the ending of anything. I’ll always, always believe in paying the artist for their art, but this leaves such a bad taste in my mouth…

I’ll be continuing to pay for my manhwa since that has nothing to do with Sagold, but I will certainly never give my money to them again. Stranger Than Friends, one of Sagold’s other works, has been bad for a while. So I’m going to save my wallet and drop that, too.

Artstyle of course amazing, but that's not all that matters in the series! It was supposed to be a fun comedy, or so I thought, but it's just kinda disgusting...just an another sexual abuse based series, it doesn't matter who with whom, as long as a lot sex scenes... typical

Istg if Chanwoo ends up with Hwan

I just want to rant here.
I really liked this manhwa, Chanwoo is really cute but I just can’t like Hwan.
Chanwoo has way more chemistry with Jin, but he died, hopefully he gets revived because he’s not human.
I never saw the romance between Chanwoo and Hwan, and I like obsessive love ngl, but their dynamic is weird, he only brings suffering to Chanwoo’s life, meanwhile with Jin he always looked happy 🙁

I just pray to the yaoi Gods, that the author doesn’t give us the typical yaoi story where the extremely traumatized uke ends up with the abuser. Chanwoo deserves love and Jin was perfect for him 🙁

Promising plot with awful characters

The initial idea of making a magical boys bl with silly wishes like “i want hyung to like me” was pretty interesting for me at the start. I was even able to deal with the enemies a bunch of hornies that the main characters has to fight off. What I could not tolerate is the amount of sexual abuse por part of other characters who does not have the justification of being an evil creature for their actions. They are straight psychos.
I gave the story a 3 for the prompt and because the round kyubey with a knife was really funny for me.
