Legitimately an amazing manga. Although a lot of the initial hype and fanbase were centered around memes, there is now an incredibly dedicated fanbase that loves the series.
Although Chihiro seems like the standard edge-lord MC, he is a caring individual. Instead of being taken seriously, his apathetic appearance is used for comedic effect. As of now (ch 36), it has been made clear that Chihiro is kind and cares deeply about others.
Hokozano is amazing. He's 23 and only started drawing during the pandemic when he was 19. If you read his previous one-shots, you can see the gradual progression and improvement of his art. This all culminates to Kagurabachi.
The art in Kagurabachi is cinematic. Fight scenes are drawn dynamically, and there is lots of thought put in the placement of characters and transitions between scenes. The facial expressions in the earlier chapters are a bit awkward, but they improve. But throughout the manga, the action scenes are consistently well drawn. Plus, I love the gold fish.
The plot may feel somewhat fast-paced, but every single scene connects together. Rather than revenge, it is centered around Chihiro learning about his father's swords, and their impact. From the Sojo-arc, and now to the auction arc, the story is beautifully constructed and forces Chihiro to confront different atrocities. This does not mean other characters are neglected. Many have undergone their own personal development, and I'm sure other characters will get focus later in the manga.
If you are initially not interested story, at least read to Hiyuki's introduction. Read the auction arc. Things only improve as the manga progresses.

Kagurabachi, as of me writing this, only has 36 chapters, but it has already proven it is amazing. When we call Kagurabachi "peak", we are not exaggerating. Don't let the memes stop you, read Kagurabachi now. This is the future of shonen.
