I thought that I Was Trash started out fairly well with a decent premise and with ok writing, the art wasn't top notch but it was decent. Unfortunately it did not last very long and the writing and art got progressively worse after about 100 chapters. The MC would look different and have different features and the art in general just got stale and stagnant. The fact that the group doing the translations dropped it after around 150 chapters is probably the reason the writing went down the toilet with poorly crafted sentences and incorrect spellings everywhere. Also it was a really stupid idea that they decided to show a few things that were supposed to happen near the end in chapter 1 and they that never ended up happening because it ended early, the did it as like a flash forward of some sort. They even showed the MC get married to a character that they didn't even show in the story after like chapter 80 and that obviously didn't happen either. I'm sure the writing would have been better with better translations and correct spelling with proper sentences, but that's just speculating. Another thing was that it kind of seemed like it was all over the place with the story at times. Like the MC saved a new girl like every 10 chapters or so, then that girl would only be around the MC for a few chapters then we don't see her again for 30 chapters. Also the MC was in university or something but then get recruited into some organization then even gets scouted to be the star of a movie in his spare time lol. The story really does jump all over the place. Honestly I would suggest just reading something different entirely because this manhua isn't finished and there are much better things to read lol.

Mass-produced low-quality trash

The girls are there because the author needs characters with a female genital and two swollen mammal glands, not because there is any other reason for them to be girl.

The writing is appalling. The character personality is awful beyond any doubt. The art is average as was the typical average manhua from China mainland.

If you want to waste your time in a bad way (in contrast to a good way which is reading much better fiction and comics), feel free to do so.

If you read any other modern wuxia novels or manhua then you might not need to waste your time and go throw the same experience as most this type of novel are made ONLY for Chinese readers. This one is just a copy of the others with some little changes

I wanted to give it a 3, because the concept is... uhh... actually, just because I wanted to being nice. I am usually really elastic and forgiving with what I read and my expectations are low, but this one is really throwing me off in so many ways. The first thing that started ticking me off, is how some objects, usually 3d, seem to be full of aliasing. Like, every line is well drawn and suddenly a 3D cup full of aliased lines appears, feeling out of place. It really destroys what I am seeing. I would totally prefer if the art was low quality but consistent, rather than this.

Second thing that throws me off is how, most of the time, what I am seeing feels flat. Rather than the image I am looking at feeling it has a depth, I feel I am looking at some flat image.

Third, which could just be part of the second one, is how the panels between them do not feel connected. It is like every panel is a different scene, not making me feel like there is a flow in the story.

But all the above are nothing, compared to the worst of them all, which is also the reason I got tired reading by chapter 10. The pacing is beyond fast. Everything is happening so fast, that by chapter 10 I did not know what the hell is going on. By chapter 22 that I gave up, I was sure. Even the story is bad. I count not understand what was going on and definitely could not enjoy it in any way whatsoever.

PS: Manwha has a fitting name, but in the wrong tense.

Unoriginal and bad writing

Not much more needs saying, this one is a chain of nonsensical events (as many other similar manhuas to be honest), the author is just dumber when presenting them, doesn't bother to explain crap most of the time and there is no continuity from event to event, things just happen randomly and girls just pop up from no where for no reason and disappear again in the same fashion.
Also, the art is quite bad.

The artist can't draw eyes worth a damn. He makes everyone look like they're cross-eyed. I'm 43 chapters in and I have no idea who the hell the MC is, either. The chapters are far too short and end randomly for no reason as if the author just decided "that's enough for today, I'll work some more next time." Worst of all, this manhua is so boring. Very amateur work.

This story has a great premise. Taking the old Wuexia trope of the Modern Master and reincarnating them in the past, to taking an Ancient Master and reincarnating them into the present. A great idea to keep things fresh. However, while the idea is great, the writing isn't. It is very lackluster in its execution and its characters and so far there has been no plot development to speak of.

The main character is boring, he is your typical stoic badass Wuexia MC that has 0 actual personality, other than the fact that he is out for revenge and is no longer a Beta Male. Each of the side characters are just as bland and forgettable as the MC. The MC has a harem because of course, he does.
