Description

Seemed kind of interesting how they initially humanised the OG FL turned kinda rival’s feelings but stopped reading for like a day and just couldn’t get back into it.

Her excuse to marry the emperor is a big eyesore of a plot hole especially when she is so terrified of her future. She could have lived a easy unmarried life or just married any other rich person to achieve her life of ease.

The jealousy arc was a waste of time and only served as a distraction to one character. By the time everyone starts to put the pieces together about what is going on, you the reader have it all figured out and now have to endure over 30 chapters of characters being oblivious.

There is romance but it is so ill timed I found myself skipping most of it b.c I just wanted everyone to figure out the obvious villain already, which is a shame b.c I might of enjoyed the romance if it was timed right.

I am up to chapter 77 and I am tiered, why has NOTHING happened, why are people still unsure who the culprit is why is the author dragging it on so long as if the reader has no idea?

If you cut out all of the tea scenes and random nothingness happening you would have 30/40 chapters at best, or at the very least season one of who the culprit is would have long since been over.

This reads like the fanfic of Abandoned Empress. But the plot is hasty because the authors rushes to reach the point where the prophesied girl will appear. The first two years of Leana's marriage is concluded within a couple of chapters and what a wasted opportunity for character development that is. Instead we have the Emperor who seemingly falls in love with Leana out of the blue. What, after neglecting her all these years? Granted he is shown to have interest in her in those first two years, but we are never given the opportunity to understand at which point exactly he stops being the guy who tells Leana not to expect love to the guy who is interested in her.

It was good at first and it seemed a little unique but I really dont like how the manga is portraying the MC's "love rival." (Bluedrop summarized the plot well in their review so read that.) There's no reason for the plot to be straying into petty catfights over a man. I'm tired of plots that force women against each other for the love of a man.

The MC literally helps and supports the black haired saintess on her first day just as MC planned on doing and then...the author forgot their own plot, I guess? The saintess is suddenly against the MC (who helped her) because she's just madly in love with the emperor (who was totally willing to interrogate/kill her like 2 days before, has shown no interest in her, and is married to the very woman who helped her).

Meanwhile, the MC becomes incredibly passive. She just lets "the story" takeover, expecting everything to fall into place. Like, there is a KNOWN PROPHECY about the emperor and saintess falling in love. Its not a secret! But does she ever go to either person and be like "I acknowledge the prophecy and support you!"- Nope! Not even to the increasingly (and obviously) jealous saintess.

And now the MC and emperor have feelings for each other so there goes like half of the MC's plans and motivations along with my interest in the series. Like I wanted them to be endgame eventually but I also wanted to see MC's plan (to have a quiet stable life as a supportive and forgotten sidechick) get some traction before it disappeared.

I gotta say I'm not super impressed with the fashion choices, which is like half the reason people read aristocratic isekai in the first place. For someone who is the future queen, Serena's clothes are too shabby/ugly/drab/boring. Overall, the dresses are poorly drawn and crudely designed. The attention to detail just isn't there. Mia looks terrible artistically speaking. All the backgrounds are also obviously copy-paste google images...

Story: 5/10
The plot is similar to Abandoned Empress, which involves the o.g. heroine being a girl from the modern era. The MC "villainess" is the noble lady that was cast aside for the mysterious transmigrant girl during the first life time. The main dude is a busy, emo workaholic. Unfortunately, the Abandoned Empress, though controversial, is A LOT MORE INTERESTING to actually read than this generic crap.

Not super impressed. No one really stuck out to me. Mia has got to be the most annoying thing I've ever seen. She's obviously not a convincing or well-built foil for Serena. Mia is just basic, delusional, and dumb. She's not even remotely interesting to read about. But then again, no one in this series is interesting.

Bookmarked. Lighter version of Abandoned Empress and at least there's no rape.

Serena is beautiful and a true lady. Emperor is a workaholic broody-type of guy. His nobles pressure him to get married. He gets annoyed and decides on Serena, the most suitable candidate, on the condition that it will be a loveless marriage and that she will never be empress, only a 'queen' (consort in some cases).

In Serena's past life, she knows theres gonna be a prophesied black-haired girl who will appear and soften the Emperor's heart. Emperor will eventually make her Empress. OG Serena had fallen in love with the Emperor, and out of jealousy attacked black-haired chick, resulting in Serena's banishment in OG timeline.

This time, Serena decides she will be satisfied with just living a quiet stable life. Her plan: befriend black-haired chick and live life peacefully.

I love the story so far
