Misleading title, it's more like Frustrating, Sad Life with a somewhat happy ending, the story was somewhat OK, but it was pretty frustrating to read, I did not enjoy it at all, also the story telling was terrible, just like the artwork.
I usually dislike SoL manhwa because too high-strung social tension, but this contained juuuust the right amount to read through in one day. Very realistic, understandable, relatable. Trigger warning, it also contains a few instances of assault that can make it difficult to read / deal with. If you live in a similarly non-accepting society or had to deal with SA, it might both hit hard and be very hard to put down.
The manhwa contains SA which was quite unexpected. The story had me quite frustrated a lot but in a enjoyable way that kept me engaged . The story is slow paced at times but i guess it adds of the charm of this simple comic which has such a deep meaning to it . The story follows the main character a girl in south korea who happens to gay . Her story story goes through the pain of SA and being gay in a non accepting society .
I guess it's the theme of sexual assault that made it difficult to read, in a good way though. I felt the diaologues and story flow depicted the disruption one would feel in their daily life after such an occurence pretty realistically. It's supposed to make you uncomfortable, because everyone tries to play it down. Another theme that was handled in this story is the dynamic of guilt and responsibility, which was portrayed in different facettes. It was an enjoyable read despite the diffusing writing.
A good series that deals with SA and being gay in Korea. Kinda difficult at times to read with the subject material but in a good way and handles the topic with respect. Only gripe is that sometimes the pacing is so slow and I wish the mother plotline had been resolved. Also I need more cute moments at the end after getting through it.
