I liked it a lot. I recognised all the characters to various extents of my own experience. Recommend it for people who have endured similar relationship trauma.
Couple 1: Mitsuru has been with his lover Kouchi for give years but rarely gets to see him. They finally get together only for Kouichi to tell Misaki that he's gotten married. Mitsuru is completly blindsided and has to make a decision, with the help of a friendly bartender. But what if Kouichi won't let him go?
Shougo is cute AND fierce.
This story made me go WTF, I have not been this upset over a story in a while.
Overall I didn't really connect to the story besides being upset. There just wasn't a lot going on besides the abuse drama and the uke being insecure and not taking care of himself.
Couple 2: Yuu confesses to his childhood friend Kou but gets utterly rejected. He moves away to avoid him only for Kou to show up out of the blue one day and push him down.
Nnno.
I loved Shougo. Just the best character of the three of them. I loved how he loves so much that he's forgiving, nice and understanding. Mitsuru and Kouichi... well, not so much for me. The first one is too insecure and I don't get why he did what he did.
If after doing it with Kouichi in what we will all agree was rape decided to break up with Shougo because of his insecurities but didn't keep meeting Kouichi... well, I could try to understand. But keeping his twisted relationship with his ex? Don't get it. And I don't understand why he decided to go back with Shougo after two months. . Kouchi was the worst part, but at least the author is able to make the reader feel empathy for him even while hating him. At least it was that way for me. ! It's obvious he really loved Mitsuru, but it's just unforgiveable getting married without saying nothing beforehand and pretending to keep their relationship. And not, getting a divorce afterwards doesn't make up for it. So sorry, not sorry: you messed up. But as I said, the author achives making you feel his sorrow: he messed up, he knows it, and is not able to make up and go back to how things were before, and that's somthing that will probably taunt him forever. Serves him, right?
About the extra pages in which they are looking at the mobile phone's date... I feel conflicted.
The date is Mitsuru's and Kouichi's anniversary. You can see the date marked in a calendar in the first chapter, when they are still dating. So having Mitsuru looking at his phone while feeling somewhat sad... not good, man. He's with Shougo but still remembers Kouichi? I don't understand.
Actually I feel for Koichi a little. If he didn't rape and abuse Mitsuru so violently, if he genuinely explained what happened and nicely asked for once more chance, if he could always be gentle and patient despite what Mitsuru told him to, even if Mitsuru didn't open up to him just yet... then I think eventually things could be different. Mitsuru was deeply in love with him, after all. He loved him, and was easy to moved... It was Koichi's fault that everything so forceful and stressful unnecessary.
I like Mitsuru. He is insecure, indecisive, emotionally weak... but he always try to please others and blame himself for whatever happened. He is a cry baby but he will be good once being guided and loved properly.
And I agree the other couple was shit. Wth was that? Made no sense at all.
I can't blame the uke for his behavior, since he was in love with Mitsuru before, and it was obviously rape when he tried to settle things down, Shougo is a really good character, if my rate is high it's almost because of him, I'm happy that he stayed happy in the end. The other couple was actually shit, because it didn't have any sense at all, it's a complete non-sense thing.
I gave a poor rating to this one because I hated the way the uke behaved. He had to choose between a selfish, abusive, bisexual that thought nothing of him and an amazing person that treated him like a human being and was serious about him. So, what did he do? He stayed with the scumbag until they both got tired of each other AND THEN he went back to his safe place, to that amazing person. Because I have a soft spot for earnest characters like Shougo, I gave this manga an extra point, even though I found it irritating to read. The other story of the first volume was so-so. I couldn't care less.
