Prologue + 276 Chapters + Epilogue (Complete)

the story after chapter 100 gradually becomes a josei manga even though the author didn't intend to. If the author has enough courage and patience, it can still become a good josei romance novel, not an axe story like this.
Pretty egregious case of the "mid-series declining readership scramble". The story takes a nasty turn for its second act, and it looks like it's getting axed before it can even reach its third act and resolve all of the issues it brought up before. I think stories with bad characters can work but the clear disdain the author has for their characters is just too much for the series to be enjoyable. It just starts to feel sadistic and gross.
that, if you choose to read this failure of a webtoon, do please stop at chapter 85 where the author should have left the two protagonists as a happy couple. I spent over four years scanlating almost 200 chapters and, frankly, the way things have turned out since chapter 85, I have come to wish I had never got involved with this trash. I have come to detest Chiyo, the FMC, more than any other character in a "romcom," more so even that Kako from P to JK, which is going some. Chiyo is self-centered, inconsiderate, cruel and spiteful, and with each new chapter, she seems to get even more so. My only wish for this travesty of a comic is that the MC, Igarashi, will free himself of the albatross around his neck that is his 10-year love for Chiyo and move on with his life. As for Chiyo, she can rot in Hell as far as I'm concerned. The one thing I do not want to happen is for Igarashi to apologize to Chiyo for all "his" mistakes and for them to reconcile and become a couple again. What was once my absolute favorite weekly read, a very sweet and fun story, has been ruined by the author's hatred of her own MC.
Update 2021/03/23: I just noticed that some idiot added "Netorare" to the category list. Apparently, many people do not know what NTR (or Netorare) actually means. As of chapter 268 there has been zero NTR and zero cheating in the series though it may, indeed, feel like it to some readers.
Update 2021/06/02: The series has come to a conclusion after a 6-year long stretch. The very abrupt conclusion made it feel like it got axed but, in reality, the author just gave up and lost motivation (she said so herself in the final chapter's comments). She made a lot of bad decisions in her storytelling over time, and was not able to pull the story out of the hole that she dug for it. This has ended up as the most disappointing romance series I've read, especially as, in the beginning, it was my absolute favorite weekly read.
Contains a few character spoilers a bit (they’re the reason why the story takes such a turn) but I’m just gonna say what’s wrong with the series because there’s a lot wrong. And I don’t want you to waste your time reading something that’ll end up unsatisfactory.
I honestly really loved the cheesiness and cliches in this shoujo Webtoon. It was adorable and the characters were really genuine in the beginning. It was a super fun read. But holy crap, after the Ookuma guy and the Subaru girl came in, the author just dragged on the misunderstandings for wayyy too long. Somehow during this, the author turned up Chiyo’s bitchy meter up to the max, and threw Igarashi into the trash bin. Because of this, the story hasn’t gone anywhere, seriously. Everything is still at square one, no character development, no nothing, even after over 200+ episodes. If Coco’s doing this because she’s gonna do something big so it changes everything, she better do it fast because no one cares anymore, no one is invested in a broken relationship between terrible characters. She wrote about a cute romance that had a lot of potential, but she threw it away for this stupid drama, along for the most toxic characters I have ever seen in shoujos. It’s really disappointing because the series was really cute, but it should have ended when it needed to.
If you wanna read this, stop at chapter 85 (or stop even sooner), because it’s the last time (I think) you’ll ever see our 2 protagonist happy with each other. Otherwise you’ll go through a serious headache. And I might sound sorta like a whiny crybaby writing this review I’m sorry haha.. I’m not good at explaining things but I hope this’ll give you an insight of what a flaming dumpster fire this Webtoon is. It’s seriously a disappointment.
Update June 24, 2021 - WOW! Would you look at that the story has finally ended! And it is still a disappointment, I’m so surprised. At least the author was able to admit that she lost motivation to keep continuing. Good on her.
I find the enviroment all the characters create is a big ball of psychological stress than the author tries to sell us to be something nice, cute and good. The female main character just doesn't communicate with her boyfriend at all and all the supporting cast are bad people too. I'm tired of it, after +170 chapters the cycle repeats: She does something bad-> then she turns angry at him (for no reason)-> he asks what's the problem and sincerely shows his love and trust for her-> she doesn't reply-> all the people say that it's his fault -> he apologises to her -> all good.
There is no growth of the characters at all, it's the same every time. A couple of times at the beginning is ok, but this is absurd. He is just a hollow character and she is a bad person. There is no deep in the personalities and the relationships are very toxic. This is not realistic at all (mainly because the characters are too simple?) and the story is too childish to be credible (unless they were little kids and not college students).
The worst part is that it tries to show the worst kind of people as good people.
I love it, this totally deserves to be rated much higher. i think its because i find it to be quite relatable, realistic and mature. especially given to how the characters respond and overcome obstacles together. even the male MC himself, i find is quite relatable to my own boyfriend and male friends (they're goofy and playful). i think its a very nice depiction of the development and growth of a young immature couple to one that nurtures, talks to each other and solves issues together. it also demonstrates HEALTHY relationships, one that is based on consent as well as consideration of other individuals' feelings. now i am an avid reader of shoujo manga so this is definitely a breath of fresh air for me because shoujo manga is almost always full of cliche plot devices, self-destructive characters, toxic relationships, unrealistic scenarios (the list goes on).
although i can agree its not everyone's cup of tea. as someone mentioned here, if you don't like it after 40ish chapters, you probably wont like it later on.
Hahaha omg this one is soooo cliche I can't believe it xD
Honestly it has done it all !! The childhood memories, the omg-we-ACCIDENTALLY-bumped-into-each-other-after-10-years, the chase in the corridors, the you-were-my-first-love, the beach trip, the wait in the rain till evening, the oh-no-I-caught-a-cold, the I-think-I-love-you-but-maybe-I-don't, the fall into the sea with the noooo-i-thought-you-were-going-to-die, the ex-bf coming back, the black out during a storm, the I'll-get-a-job-to-buy-you-a-birthday-present-but-I-won't-tell-you-so-you'll-get-anxious-about-what's-going-on-and-presume-cheating, the I'll-accept-to-give-my-number-to-a-girl-who-obviously-loves-me-and-receive-a-message-from-her-when-I'm-in-the-shower-so-my-gf-will-see-it-and-start-worrying.... And all the lame jealous acts... Lmao I seriously can't believe it ! facepalm Just talk to each other goddamnit !
The mc are way too stereotypical !! The tall and popular guy but too possessive because too insecure and stupid, and the cute and big breasted girl who's way too dishonest and tsundere... They're so immature and childish !! sigh all of it seemed so pointless... Even when it's obvious they just don't get it ^^' Fortunately it gets better as it moves on because they talk to each other a bit more.
On the contrary the supporting characters are really good (yup I'm totally looking at you Ryouhei !! Haha I absolutely love this guy xD)
But all in all it's just a lame ass shoujo full of cliches and dumb misunderstandings... I guess that's why it was a fun read !
Main pair is sweet , MC is little off but he tries his best . Chiyo (the girl of MC) is a cute small girl that had bad experience in past with boys so she is repeling MC at start but she grows and accept MC . Art is okay , story is not bad at all .I think you all should give it a try , if you don't like it after 43 chapters you probably won't like it later .
Is he supposed to be an airhead? His personality... is unnatural. He is like a robot that is trying to be human, trying to learn human behavior but only manage to grasp its surface value.
I had high expectations when I started reading it. It looked very mature/seinen like which I absolutely prefer over shoujou etc. The first few chapters were rather nice but I realized that the male main protagonist is almost as dimwitted as in the soppiest shoujo manga (personal opinion). If that wouldn't be the case I would definitely like it.
