I read the entirety of this webtoon on Lezhin, and I must say that it was mostly enjoyable. It starts off really strong with a stubborn heroine, Roxina (Roxanne), who has been brought to her rope's end by her husband, Antoure (Arthur), who wants a divorce from her. She agrees to getting a divorce on the one condition that she is allowed to sleep with whoever she wants, and even though Antoure agrees, he schemes up something else in mind.
The tension between Roxina and her nighttime lover, and then Roxina and her not-yet divorced husband was palpable and oh so delicious. This was the main reason I kept reading until the end. Unfortunately I do feel like the amount of "debauchery" that goes on between Roxina and her escort dwindled after a certain amount, or maybe that the story shifted focus from the high tension *** and tried to focus on the human drama of why Roxina is the way she is. This isn't bad at all, and I love it when stories try to dig deeper at what the motivations of each characters are. I think while they did a really good job of it with Roxina, Antoure... not so much. It was still enjoyable, and I would generally recommend this to others if they are open to reading explicit webtoons.
The art was really unique and I liked it so much! Strangely I feel like they switched artists after about Ch 22? The colors were similar but the roundness and bounce of people's faces and eyes changed so much and it made me a bit sad. It wasn't bad by any standard! Rather it just felt a bit more generic and didn't have the same sort of uniqueness that it started out with. I'm sure there are people who probably prefer the art in later chapters, but I guess I fall in the opposite group.
The explicit scenes in this webtoon were AMAZING! I always admire people who can draw bodies contorting in such a way while making it not look uncanny or painful. It seriously had me hooked because of the tension, nervousness, relief, and pleasure that the artist and writer were able to convey. I was always rooting for Roxina dishing it out with her man haha. I don't think the art change really affected these scenes, so I'm going to say that this was okay.
The Ending: It honestly felt like there was more to the story planned but then it got canceled so the writer and artist had to come up with a way to end it quickly. It was a sweet and happy ending without any kind of the debauchery that the webtoon started out with. I personally think it would have been great to end off with something like that just to thematically tie everything together, but meh shrugs. It was still a very CUTE ending, and it made me wish that the main couple continued to have a nice life together 🙂!
Extra thoughts I had after reading the story:
The peek into Roxina's psyche during the second arc of the story portrayed how well written she started out in the story. She just seemed like she was this sex crazed person who was trying super hard to keep a lid on her desire, but in reality she was someone who craved wanting to be loved. That said however, the second arc definitely erased her "debaucherous"/horny side to where it almost didn't exist anymore.
On the other hand, the depth that Roxina's character had contrasts really well to show that Antoure was not fleshed out well at all! When she gets her glow up to show she is more than meets the eye, it ends up showing how much shallower Antoure is in the story because even though he got a zoom in into his head, it was just "yeah all the men in your fam sucked so I guessed you were the same and avoided you even though I met you multiple times and WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT YOU WERE DIFFERENT". They did my boy dirty :<.
Also slightly random but I wish the story had gone into a more crazy direction. It started out whacky and I was hoping it would continue in that whacky debaucherous way with this basically idiot couple LOL but alas, they decided to make the characters seem sane and end it on a normal happy ending.
