I really liked the art and while the MC kept getting saved by others, I thought there was a little bit of character growth happening. But then it suddenly ended??
As others have said, it feels spotty, has a harem (yet it is really clear he doesn’t like any of the girls romantically except for one), but the fight scenes were pretty neat.
I dropped this manga after chapter 14..
cause, I was like, "what the hell", shinkurou was a freaking bull, he's always so drawn to self pity.
So slow to even react when murasaki was being beaten(he even call himself a bodyguard), he was even saying, "what did this guy just do? ". Don't you have freaking eyes, he's beating murasaki for god's sake.
Couldn't even retaliate there and was defeated with only a single blow, tch tch..
Can somebody please give me a good reason to read this manga again..
I liked the art though
Honestly. This is a true master piece. I've read lots of manga so far, -yet, I've never been caught up in anyone like I got in this one. Something about this manga got me hooked up indulging both my own imaginary fantasies and enjoying both main and sub stories.
I had a rule that nothing is perfect cause everything is lacking in some extent. Kure-nai was utterly perfect and every lack in it was also a part making it more perfect.
Good, but not great. In nearly every fight the protag is bailed out by the girls, and it seems he never really gets stonger.
On the flip side, the relationship Kurenai has with Murasaki is quite heartwarming and enjoyable to watch (if you look at it from a sister/brother perspective that is).
Overall, this manga is worth the read but the weakish protagonist does get a little dry after a while.
This manga reminds me a lot of Pandora Hearts, Murasaki not only looks but acts like Alice from PH as well. And both protagnists in Kure-nai and PH have some type of issue with themselves, Oz and Shinkurou.
Is it just me, or does the portrayal of events in this story seem too unrealistic? Maybe I've just been reading too many great manga like Shingeki no Kyojin recently, but this manga seems a bit subpar, with a few plot holes and story inconsistencies that keep on breaking my suspension of disbelief. At least the art is good.
I really really LOVE this
Eventhough harem is one of the genre, since I don't like harem genre, but doesn't like others with the same genre, I thought the male protagonist in this series (Shinkurou) was a bit different, because IMO, it's a bit clear that the one he most adores was Murasaki. And I like Murasaki's strong character. Oh, and every girl in this story is really really cool...
I liked the anime, but I like the manga much better. Some people say they don't care for the art style, but I actually prefer it to the anime, especially Murasaki's character design. A lot of the anime was filler (musical episode :/ ) and slice of life, so if you prefer slice of life, watch the anime. If you prefer numerous plot arcs and a good amount of action, read the manga.
Kure-nai is really outstanding. the story is good, but what really made me interested was the character development between each person. . i like the relationship between shinkuro and murasaki, more like a brother and sister feel than a pedo. . murasaki is so cute! wish i had a little sister like that. . anyway its a good read, there are a bit of chapters released so far 30. i hape they continue to keep the story intact. . so i recommend that you try and read it! its fun and not overly dramatic. .
