It's pretty much a copy-paste of konosuba in a different setting. We have almost the same characters with different names and appearances. The idiot knight with a weird fetish who are also airheaded and can't stop drooling, the chuunibyou loli who are strangely easily embarrassed, the fairly lazy and utterly moronic mc etc. Of course, there are differences in their actions and personalities as well as their reasons for doing stuff, but the mood is the same. Even if no one told me who the author is, it would immediately be very obvious who it is. Actually, when I read the first chapter of this manga to check things out, I didn't know who it was, but after a few pages I had this strong feeling of having seen the same crap before and knew who the author was.
Konosuba wasn't really that good in the first place, but this just feels like I'm reading the same thing all over again with slight differences. At least, I guess, it's somewhat better because the mc isn't a weak, lazy fcker who dies all the time while doing his best to never improve and stay at home doing nothing, although this mc is still a sleazebag with no real goals or motivation. I would surely have liked this more than konosuba if I had the chance to read both at the same time back then. Well, can't say I'm fond of the whole technology bullsht, being connected to a modern day/futuristic earth it will never fit in well in fantasy isekai stories, but I guess that's fine in a gag comedy manga/novel.
Honestly, this author's writing style got old pretty quickly. While it's readable and decently enjoyable(it's not as if I feel bored enough to stop), it's far from being at the level of something TRULY good. I remember loving the anime version of konosuba several years ago and laughing my ass off when it first came out, but now it just feels really childish most of the time with a lot of low-level jokes that can't make me laugh, the chance of it making me cringe is higher. Not saying I never laugh, but almost all of the jokes completely miss their target, it's truly comedy that works better with younger readers, or at least those who haven't read/watched that much stuff. Personally, I yawned more than I laughed, but I know for sure that it'll be a hit with people who are newer to anime/manga/novels or just below twenty years old. If you've gone through this author's previous work(konosuba), you will probably enjoy this far less though since the style, characters and gags are pretty much identical and you should be tired of it already. However, if you read konosuba and just felt like it truly wasn't enough and you want more, you'll probably love this.
Nonetheless, it's a recommended read, because, despite all the flaws, it's not truly a bad work. It's a good manga to waste some time with, at the very least it's not annoying in any way and I never felt like dropping it. Giving it a 7/10 shows that it's not that bad since I don't give high scores lightly, it's definitely above average and I enjoyed reading it. While I mentioned a lot of things as flaws, these might be plus points for some people who like this author's style a lot.
