At time of review, read till chapter 120.
Is it a power fantasy? well, yes, but it avoids the failings of numerous other novels/ manga in this genre.
level 9000? i dont know what you are on about. Frankly its pretty amazing that its hard to point out a single flaw or inconsistency in this manhua. Hell, the protagonist makes plans with razor thin margins and there are moments where he miscalculates and actually suffers for it.
Btw yes this deserves a quick mention, the art direction is absolutely stellar, i do not have a single complaint. The characters are all expressive with none of them looking bland or lifeless. It also doesnt fear upping the ante a notch for the comedic moments.
Which takes us to the other topic, It does comedy, and boy does it do it right. Other novels in this genre also try similar stuff but the jokes often land flat because of poor timing and not understanding that face slapping doesnt equal funny for no reason. In this manhua however the artist(s) have a really good understanding of what makes certain scenes tick and they execute on it brilliantly.
Embarassing? i'm also unsure where this comes from. The manhua completely understands what its doing, him proving his teacher wrong in the very first scene of the comic and walking away from it unscathed is a part of it. The manhua is making a jab at the protag himself, not to mention this doesnt really happen later. Also he doesnt even become invincible right from step one.
Yes, if you look at the in universe timing, his pace of growth is astronomical, but from the pacing of the story where each day is described, its not actually long at all. If anything, the thing it is missing is long periods of static cultivation which are just time skips, it has basically none and thats what makes his pace of growth so fast.
Also, his doesnt become all powerful even in universe, His cultivation strength is still comparable to his schoolmates even till the 100s chapters, it is actually his experience that lets him win, if comparing just the strength then he's weaker in plenty of aspects.
TLDR: definite read, not a dark, gritty story but extremely entertaining comedic read with awesome art.
