I like the story, It is actually quite good on some action scenes. Slightly boring ch1, ch2 throws you right into some action.
MC - Starts out weak and actually gets beaten and bullied early on. He is also as previously stated a downside is he is too cowardly. However lets see you not freak out with threats of losing your man's best friend. He quickly shows his devil/lewd/evil side. Anyone who makes it past chapter 8 will see a great improvement.
World - World building has been quite good, should have probably gone into more detail in later chapters, but instead gives it all early and carries on afterwards.
Romance - I am actually quite keen on some of the romance happening with the MC, I am not normally a huge fan of harems or bunches of romance, but the scenes are very well done.
I would not say this is the best title I have read, however it is well above average. I am a big fan of Wuxia and Xianxia, which makes this one a good read. It is definitely worth picking up if also a fan.
My only grievance with this is with the translation group. The problem is they spend half of their time muddying the waters.
[T/N: muddying the waters/ Making things harder to understand or more complicated. ]
I mean every paragraph they will track their thumb to their pinky by way of the elbow.
[T/N: track their thumb to their pinky by way of the elbow/ Doing something pointless or doing it the long way]
Doing it every chapter is like they are trying to carry water in a sieve.
[T/N: trying to carry water in a sieve/ Doing something which is pointless to no end.]
Yeah, irritating to read isn't it 🙂 haha. I can understand it once or twice to explain the phrase, however this comes up frequently where the sentence is confusing in english because of the Idioms every time, then you spend your time translating what the translated version meant. It really does make this novel harder to read which will have a negative impact on readers first impressions of this title.
Side note being that the translators have a good understanding of english so where there are no idioms being used it is very easily readable.
