Edit: So I have read it again and I still don't know if the author didn't know or just ignored the fact that
there is no way that some alpha can overwrite marking an omega even if he has stronger pheromones than omegas's partner, so maybe Haruki just imagined himself that he bites Aoi, but Aoi's calls for Akane interrupted that?! Weird is that when Akane rescued Aoi he told to Haruki that he is the only mate Aoi will ever have and when Haruki met Shima he said about her father "Don't tell me it's Kuroda", and it gaves a feeling like it wasn't obvious Aoi and Akane will be together, like he could be like that with anyone else, when of course that Shirasaki's daughter is Kuroda's, they're mates after all, I don't know, it is still weird as hell
I hope that author won't destroy it even more if there will a 3rd volume. Pretty please...
I likes this manga, it was a really fluffy, sweet, lovely story about two deliquents boys who suddenly felt that their scent is something that bring them together and eventually fell in love with each other. The form of the story is somehow unique as they kind of tell their story to their daughter, Shima, the most beautiful and smartest girl all over the world. Well, this is omegaverse, but the author escaped bad tropes in this universe. At last in volume one...
Unfortunatly she lated realesed second volume and this is something that make me feel unable to give this manga ten stars.
And it's not even why mangaka decided to give us another alpha, who wanted to be paired with our omega, it's because there is no logic at all.
First, omega main lead (Aoi) is paired with his beloved alpha main lead (Akane), he was bitten by him in first volume and they are in happy relationship. But Aoi is feeling insecure, and then other alpha appeared out from nowhere. What's worse, he was an arrogant mafia boy who was seeking for strong mate and decided that this mate has to be Aoi. So he keeps pestering him to be his mate, and even abduct him to pair with him. AND THIS IS WHERE LOGIC IS GONE! Because due to the laws of omegaverse universe omega's pair is first alpha who bite his neck during their sexual intercourse in heat. And for Aoi, this alpha was Akane. So how can Haruki (the other alpha) belive that when he will bite Aoi's neck (even on the bitemark place) he will become his pair?! Only because his alpha blood runs strong in his family (as he says himself)?! What's more, Aoi cannot get in heat with alpha other than his pair, he cannot get pregnant with someone else either. SO WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT?!
Moreover, Haruki is not only wanting to bite Aoi, he try to bite Aoi twice. And the second time he stops just cause Aoi is sick and feverish calls Akane's name. Yes, he is that type of guy who is ready to use sexually unconsious person and destroy his life, just because he decided so and he doesn't even love him. And he even tells himself that he didn't bite Aoi thanks to being lenient for once, like that was some kind of mercy to Aoi and Akane to let them be together.
And this is something really weird. Of course, different mangas can use different rules of omegaverse, but overall it's all the same. Rules of omegaverse are always specified on the first pages of manga, like explain what new genders are and what is about this whole pairing thing. In this manga, it is said that first bitemark from alpha is pernament, so how Haruki can even think he can overwrite Akane's bitemark just like that?! In the library he even says to Aoi, that his bitemark is so red with him around, because he is feeling threaded by him or his alpha is willful. Does that mean, that bitemark on Aoi's neck is temporary and Akane bites him regulary?! Well, not at all, since Akane bites Aoi in last chapter of volume one, when they are in heat due their first time. There is the vague stupid possibility that they weren't in heat back then, but since they meet they took strong supressant as their heat was stronger that before, just because sweet smell their felt for each other. It's true that "true mates" term was just a thinking for Aoi, but according to the rules of omegaverse it was a cleary sign they are a fated pair. So I guess Akane would find a billions of occasions to bite Aoi in heat, during this two years together from end of vol.1 to beginning of vol.2. And this bitemark still looks the same even when Aoi and Akane hadn't had sex for awhile. SO I AM ASKING AGAIN - WHERE IS SENSE IN THIS?! Probably, Aoi's bitemark was red just because he was thinking if he is a good mate for Akane, was feeling insecure and maybe he was feeling threaded by another alpha, who was interested in him, but I think that Aoi's body wanted to warn Haruki that this omega is already taken, not to get attention from him. Especially, since Aoi hated smell of this another alpha hitting on him. So what this whole story of trying to bite Aoi to make him his is about?! Yes, in omegaverse there is a way to ged rid of bitemark (or rather, bond with alpha) and this way is called operation in hospital, which needs agree from both alpha and omega, because this operation use alpha feromones. Not every manga is accepting this whole thing, and there can be many side effects like omega can suffer from unending heat, or it can even curtail omega's life. And this is what Akane meant about not wanting to break their bond, when he thought Aoi would like to do this. So for Haruki to be Aoi's pair it would take a long way, including operation, and agree from Aoi and Akane, and there would'nt be any guarantee that it would work out, since in most cases omega after operation cannot be paired again.
So I don't know if Haruki just wanted to try how it would be to bite an omega (even paired), especially in the very same place where his bitemark is, or to see if this would work and they would be paired, or just wanted to tease Aoi and test Aoi and Akane's love. It's really hard to belive that he - an alpha from rich family - doesn't know that he would't be paired with already paired omega just by bitting him. Even if this is a world full of betas, when alphas and omegas are rarity. He is a alpha himself afterall. And why is Aoi saying to him that his (Haruki) smell doesn't do a thing for him?! Isn't it obvious?! The only good thing came from all this mess was that Aoi understood that even if he isn't as smart and rich as Akane is he still wants only him, wants to be with him and want to feel his smell forever.
But it's so confusing and unclear that I felt lost suddenly. This totally ruined my pleasure from reading manga, and it was so good till this moment. I am a person who think when read, so I am very disapointed, especially since true thoughts and motives of Haruki try to bite Aoi (he almost did it, his teeth was on Aoi's neck already, and Aoi started to call Akane in a very last second), and his monologue about being lenient for Aoi calling Akane's name, this is so unclear and dumb, that for me, it deserved two stars dows at least.
You can read it, if you are not so demaning as I am, and you don't care about something this unlogical.
What a waste.
But hey, when I realized that Shima is written like "purple" I knew why, and you?! Did you know that when you add red color (Aka) to blue color (Ao) it gives you purple color (Shi). So Shima is a child of Aoi and Akane, like Purple is a child of Blue and Red.
