The author claims to add sweetness to this story in the prologue. Insert Maury meme the first 25 chapters determined that was a lie 🤣
Also, screw this debt and illegal loan shark system of how family members need to inherit the debt. Understandably the debt doesn't just magically disappear if someone dies, but those loan sharks don't have to be so cruel. Dang.
Anyway... The story IS cute, but it is also really depressing too -- there is neglect, abuse, sexual assault, traumatic history, you name it. The psychological tag should be added here. If you aren't in the right headspace, please don't get into this. I felt physically hurt reading about what FL endured 😭.
Otherwise, I love this story and the art so far. Love the cute secondary characters, those little jokes and asides make the story more lighthearted and loveable. It is a bit slow and chapters are super short, but I'm enjoying it.
Can't wait to see how the story unfolds!
UPDATE: I finally finished the series. And omg, I forget how heartbreaking it is… but the cute and happy side stories at the end will make you forget all about how bitter it was in the beginning. Ahhh, the sweetness was almost too much — I got diabetes from it LOL.
But definitely… the start to this story is really harsh, yet the end is a total 180 — but it was a gradual shift to there, so it’s acceptable. All the characters were amazing, even the antagonist gets her redemption. 🥹 Read to the end, it’s worth it!
Seriously love the epilogue where the the author wanted to even draw them reincarnating 🤣!!! I don’t think anyone wanted the story to end, hahah. It was just that good.
