ok as what my review title is, this is what it is. This review will only be accurate as far as the manhua follows the novel. All I can tell you one thing that is this is a very nice cultivation-based mystery/ thriller story that I have ever read. Ok the best part of this is actually you can follow the mystery part without having to be cultivation maniac or a yaoi lover (which I'm ruling myself out) but in the very end can you ignore parts that you don't like and find the story acceptable, even very much interesting.

if you think this is not yaoi, it is understandable. i thought the same thing before reading the novel too.
the manhua hasn't reached the smut chapters yet (09/11/2021). Although now the manhua has 200+ chapters while the novel has 100+ chapters, the manhua had only reached a bit more than half of the novel, including the extra chapters, because that is mostly the reason why it is classified as "yaoi"

First I would like to request removing the tag "Antihero / Antiheroine" its so unjustified ,you can put instead "Hated Protagonist" or "unlucky Male Lead"
Wei Wuxian is a great as a character and as a heroine "HE IS A TRUE HERO" ,no one understood him in the past which was led to him to be tagged as an "evil" being ,he is self-sacrifice ,always put anyone in need ahead of him ,have great deal of self respect with sold self confident ,grateful to anyone doing him the smallest deed ,smart ,and have great deal of justice.
No one believing in him ,holding all the heavy duty by himself ,no one understood his action enough to make him trust them to listen to them (as we see in the present when he found that someone he listened) ,abounded by his closets family's ,lead to him being target to every great evil greedy men.
And the Jiang siblings just HATE THEM THE MOST ,They're Despicable ,selfish ,no quality of leadership ,no bond(just appearance) ,ungratefuls ,cowards ,lack self respect ,shallows and depending ,Wei Wuxian would have been greater leader than chang for the jiang clan
And they left "Wei Wuxian" all alone defending the people the "JIANG" clan in debt to ,holding the heavy duty alone knowing what a weak point he have ,in same time disagreeing his act
Really all his suffering was from the jiang ,if the jiang father left him alone he would have been better....
And they want him to listen (in other word always agree and obey in wrong or right) while they never did ,and want him to follow them blindly without even trying to give him solutions to the problems he is displaying to them ,so of course he will lean to his way as there's no other way to protect and do justice
I hate how the writer stripped him from all his high horse and credits ,left him with the worst that satisfy the ones who were jealous of him or wanted him to be weak...,while he deserve to be restored to his highest rank he was on....he really was the biggest loser in all of this and that sadden me the most...
GREAT SORY ,GOOD ART (JUST a little CONFUSING IN SIMILAR DRAWN CHARACTERS) A MASTER PIECE AND A HIDDEN GEM ,I found it by coincident ,not in top BL or Shonen Ai or other tags while it should had been...
By the way the anime was badly adapted like thrown pieces from the story here and there mixed with nonsense fillers and done great damage to the story and story understanding and to the mc and to his love interest ,besides killing the feeling between the 2 mc ,they even removed any hint of even bromance .And they totally destroyed the mystery element in the left hand body parts tracking arc which was the best in all of the story...I strongly wouldn't recommended the anime ,or at least not as a first source of the story

Its like a journey.. Beautiful, grounded and innocent love... It is tragic but at the same time that is what brings out the essence and connection towards the characters. Its very rare to find stories where you want to feel the way the character does. You go through the same exitement and pain as the character. And this very story did it elagantly.
I would also like to suggest the anime as the art and animation beautiful. Although I have not yet touched upon the drama, audiodrama or the novel, I'm pretty sure they did a fantastic job too. So by conclusion this is one of the must read piece of work.

Barely a shounen ai....

So disappointed. I read 100 chapters and this is definitely not a yaoi manga.
Not a martial art manga either or what it's worth. The plot is pointless and I don't feel any attachement to the mc... If you want to read a supernatural manga ok why not but if you are looking for a yaoi manga, a martial arts manga, a romance manga or just an interesting manga : find another one!

..for all the fujoshi and fudanshi out there!

Everything about this series is perfect! The plot, the art, the characters, the love,..all are just great. You won't regret reading it.
It's a bit confusing to understand at first so if you have time, read the novel and watch the donghua first. If not, start with the donghua, then work your way to this manhua.

First time I read this I was so confused. The names are the most complicated parts and there's lots of dots to fill in. It's a much better experience if you peruse the other media. Its really a good story! Seems like it won't be updated for a while or ever though.

Interesting but it's going to take years to be completed

Maybe it's because I'm used to manga, which has much more pages to chapter and much more scene as well, but this title, while interesting and engaging, feels like it's going to take 10 years to be completed (and it started in 2017). The reason for that is that little happens in each chapter, and the story seems to be quite big.

So, I've read the 61 chapters in 2 hours but I probably wont wait around for the next chapters - it looks like it's not worthy it. Maybe when it's completed and IF I remember about it I'll try to read again.
