Terrifying & Beautiful

The art in this is enough for me to give it a high rating. In one of the volumes, TANAKA Yasuki shares his process of how he draws each panel. It's a lengthy and intricate process, but absolutely pays off.
This manga does a good job of making you care about the characters. The high stakes are actually felt.
I wish some parts could have been fleshed out more. The romance felt a bit clumsy. That's the only critique I have.

One of the most compelling mangas I've read in a while. Despite the pace bogging down at the end and a few ass-pulls, it's well worth your time. Really looking forward to what the author does next!

a mess of time travel and shadow which blends well as a thriller

STR is story where MC upon coming back to his hometown finds it invaded by shadows (literally) who can copy humans and replace their existence. He then found he was able to turn back time and while doing so trying to desperately gather allies and fight the impending shadowy apocalypse.

while the theme is not entirely new, the approach STR use in this time traveling is interesting, in that their opponent share the capabilities to counter MC's time traveling. Also while MC can pick his traveling back time, he can never really control how long and his going back line is continuously pushed forward, so he doesn't in fact has unlimited tries. I had rushed finished it (it's available on free on Mangaplus - all chapters as when this review was written) - though I started to watched it on Disney+ initially - honestly I might enjoy it more if I read/ watch it on periodical basis.

Overall it's a nice thriller, it successfully blends the fighting of shadows while MC made up his deficiencies against shadow's superiority with time traveling.

Great manga to read if you're a fan of the mystery supernatural genre

Summer Time Render has its own unique premise in the manipulation of time, which is one of the most fascinating theme that would surely leave the readers wanting more after every chapter. It's a perfect manga to binge read, though I can imagine the pain of waiting for more chapters during its still releasing days.

Character development in this manga is especially great. Almost all characters have their own story to tell, whether big or small. And it's not detrimental to the story at all because the development is organic and well connected.

The story, well, for lending the vast power of time manipulation in telling, may arguably have some plot points. I even sometimes wonder, "Huh, how did this happen?" and "How is it possible here?". However, the manga still has an ending that could satisfy most readers.

The only issue I have for this manga is that, the number of pages varies greatly between chapters. The short chapters would definitely frustrate avid readers as they left the story at a cliff hanger many times.

Final thought: Whether or not your preference is time manipulation theme, everyone should read this manga once. Or, at the time of this comment, the anime has reached around half of its runtime, and so far, it's adapting quite fatefully. So you can opt for that to explore this story. Maybe I will edit this comment to give my thoughts on the anime too after seeing its finale.

A great time loop manga

If you like time loops, you will love this! I always love a good time loop, time travel, transmigration, reincarnation kind of manga where they try to right the wrongs of their life. In this particular manga, the loops are used as a weapon against forces of darkness. The way it is used is not confusing, and author able to convey the parameters of the loops easily to the readers.

The bad guy is a bit bonkers and the love story is a bit juvenile but the action is great!

A hidden gem

The previous comment is accurate. The romance is pretty clumsy and the pace is just a tiny bit too fast for me but that’s literally all I can complain about.
I don’t think I can even write a proper description without spoiling the story because of how many plot twists there are...

The manga is good. It’s just simply good.
Expect good action, foreshadowing, lots of crazy plot twists, intelligent protagonists, intelligent villains, many questions and not many answers.
Stuff escalates FAST.

If you’re even slightly interested in it, READ IT. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Its really good. And completely free on Mangaplus.
Im guessing the volume 1 cover with Ushio in a swimsuit misleads readers into not reading this manga. Even i avoided it for years because of the cover. Haha
