I like this story a lot, I read it years ago and am re-reading it recently and still adore MC and her family. Her father and brothers are honestly the stars of the manhwa and the author knows it as it almost always includes at least 1 of them in each arc, watching them fawn over her while pretending not to is adorable. the story has an overarching narrative with a different nation so it is overall intriguing on how it will be handled. Also watching the sexism upsets me so I like watching the characters and world slowly change to appreciate her and others, although those aspects aren't touched upon much until closer to the end as it isn't the main focus of the story.
I read some of the other reviews and I see where some people are coming from. There is a lot of sexism and belittling of women, with MCs family it funny because they use it as an excuse when they are being nice to MC like a tundere, her family is honest by actions, not words. The rest of the world's sexism is usually resolved by someone around her, like a damsel in distress which can be frustrating because it shows that MC is useless but can I not enjoy a story about a girl protected by her powerful family, MC is not badass but she is not useless either. The story is slow but MC does have powers and helps people.
My main problem for me is the male lead, main love interest. We find out who ML is from the very beginning, he's shown as strong and respected by others so he's often busy and away from MC. Every time they interact it's either him cordial to her, him saving her, or them lovey-dovey about finally being together. Those interactions are few and far between so we barely see them as friends who love each other but instead like Romeo and Juliet, with limited time to interact because of something that is in the way and they are immersed by memories of each other. While the second male lead and her siblings spend a lot of time with each other, I adore those moments but because of that, I can't get behind the ML. I like the ML more than the 2nd ML but I wish ML had some of the same traits and interaction as MC does with some of the other characters so we can go on the journey with them as they can finally be together. It fells like the author doesn't know how to write the ML because some of their interactions are skipped, we are just told they are spending time together without seeing the conversations but I would love some simple moment between them talking about random things and confiding in each other about random problems, it would show how they trust each other and how MC can be really honest around him because she has yet to be herself, the only person who knows her pettyness is the 2nd ML which is why some people root for him, he understands her better and I wish the ML would too. Not saying none of those moments exist because by the end MC is more honest with everyone but it can be frustrating at times.
This was more of a rant than a review but I think this is a valid criticism about other mangas love interests as well, some of them get put on a pedestal and have a sweet relationship with the main characters but besides some random sad back story we don't know them that well while the 2nd love interest is much more human, not always of course, and the 2nd ML in this manga is sus but that makes his motives intriguing when reading. Again, I really like this manga, and I mostly read it for MC and her family but I wanted to get this off my chest.
