Insightful, Definitely a manga for those.with an open mind

The manga itself was very compelling and addressed alot of the issues or the 'dark sides' of Japan through the eyes of each individual character. Now it is understandable that each heroine could have solved their problem in a different way, we also have to keep in mind Japan's social structure and basis is very different than other countries, therefore I feel like each individuals thought process made the book seem more realistic. Its a daring manga just the fact that these real life situations and problems are being exposed.It's sad, morbid, and true in some instances. What I loved the most about this series is that each ending was open ended. There was no definite happy ending, just a taste of what the future may hold, I thought that was brilliant and refreshing. The open ended endings for each story definitely made moral of the story much more stronger.

This manga is intolerable. It's badly written. It's not immediately obvious but it's glaringly so soon enough. I don't recommend it. You could get better stories from various places outside of manga.

I seriously hate you if you like this.

Heavy handed and hateful, bad storytelling. Your average weekly show about various topics would be better.

imagine the worst lifetime stories and that's what this is. Stupid girls doing stupid things that no one has to be told not to do. Stupid girls figuring out what everyone already knows in a slow stupid way.

the people that like to pump themselves up with this are just sick.

This manga isn't interested in telling a story which completely negates it's purpose and the medium it's in. It's an insult to manga, and storytelling. It doesn't weave its topics.

But even in this regard it's inferior to a weekly show. Maybe americans aren't familiar with them but the weekly shows from latin america are just way better than this travesty.

Like I said, it's the worst of lifetime but with shitty or weak incompetent girls that aren't really characters.

Edit: Also no japanese kids are not this piece of trash. I used to read newstories straight from japan. There were plenty of stories about molesters and hidden videos where the girls quickly discovered it and the person got arrested. This actually paints a bad picture of japan.

and comments like forbiddenangels showcase this misunderstanding and looking down of the japanese that westerners have, even those that enjoy manga.

As someone who's very flexible when it comes to genres of manga, I have to say this is truly a great piece. Instead of an artist who wants to make stories, we have a master storyteller with artistic skills. Although they're all fantastic short stories, I did find the first story to be a bit hard to relate to. (perhaps that's the benefit of not understanding the will of wanting to kill one's self). All the other stories don't fail in portraying real(though exaggerated for dramatic effect) events, as well as how it affects the people close to whoever such problems are occurring to.

In response to previous comments about the reality of onlookers not doing anything, you have to understand Japanese culture is greatly different from American or European culture. We are capable of speaking up and creating a voice for ourselves if we feel like helping another, but for a conservative society like Japan that rarely happens. Being quiet and not standing out is something they value, and it may be hard for some Americans to understand, but don't think it's ridiculous for them to not speak up. Cultural differences aren't exaggerated when we read this manga, as this is how the Japanese society works. Acknowledging this, Confidential Confessions is in fact more of a collection of stories which empower teenagers (even outside of Japan) to take free will upon themselves and speak up against unfair treatment rather than stories which go in depth about how "bad" our society really is.

If you have the time of day, do read it. If not, spare some time to do so. These collections of stories will touch any reader, even one who doesn't currently go to high school.

It really has a nice balance of not to depressing, light hearted parts of real life, and horrible (I mean with the things happening in the protagonists lives) extremely well done. I also thought it cut to down to the raw essentials. All in all, very educational… And yet still interesting. Recommended to all who want to learn more about Japanese culture and/or read about the psychology of moral dilemmas in the mind, and what actions take place. This deserves a lot more credit.

Chapt. Tears is really stupid, those girls are dumb not standing up for themselves, Japan have a lot of prostitutions and all those things..... Its totally a disgrace for women.!!!!!

actually what made this so compelling is that its filled with stuff that i dont know about and wouldnt have known about if i havent read this... well because im not suicidal, into prostitution or drugs... i dont know about other people...

anyways it was also written in a way that is easy to understand and that people can really relate... especially teenagers.. like me!! anxiety about the future, fitting in.. wow man... i really wanna read more!! i have only read up to vol 3... thats what in animeA and mangafox and i think that if im not asking this in a thred then its ok to ask... so guys where can i read more of this? 🙂 pm me and the moderators wouldnt know...

anyways the story is good the art is very ordinary but i think it fits...

Shocking and recommandable

When I read the first volume of CC, I had the urge to show it to everyone, because I was so moved by it. I like mangas like CC or Tokyo Babylon that actually tell us about some real life problems (drugs, prostitution, mobbing...). I've read every volume and of course I liked some topics more than others... but overall, I think Confidential Confessions is one of those manga even (or especially) newcomers would like.

I highly recommend this series, unless you do not want to see certain issues (sexual assualt, bullying ect.) Takes a look at what things that people don't like talking about. But really good if you like Vitamin, Deep Love, Life I'd check these out.

Tagline is great; Real life doesn't always have a happy ending and that is evident in these stories. :3

I've only read #1,2, and 5, I believe but I still love this manga. It's funny, but incredibly depressing at times, and shows lots of sides to issues. It showed the pros and cons to drug use, which I thought was interesting since that isn't done too often. It's probably not many people's taste, since its not traditional, more like a lifetime movie. Maybe my explaination sucks, but I still like em. >o<
