Just plain awful. Kiyoshiro is the worst boyfriend in shoujo hands down: emotionally neglectful, dismissive, gaslighting, mean, selfish, unavailable, uncooperative and unwilling to listen... the list goes on. This girl was always doing her damn best to be the bigger person in this relationship and had eyes for no one but him yet the manga is 99% just him doormat walking all over her.

No I can't really with, stupid bit** like the fL i f*king regret reading this shit ugh the fL seriously she was a stupid bit** till the end since it's the author who designed it like that it's author to be blamed ugh even I don't know why I am so frustrated over this characterization it was never been like this, it's first for me so please ignore my foul language sorry!!! ..._____________________________________404___________________________________404______The author, on the other hand, pushed the MC, who had little to no backstory, into the background, which irritated me the most.
And the love rival, who appears frequently once he is introduced to the MC of the novel.
And then there's the female lead, who adds to my annoyance by doing that fucking thing where she's really trying to put herself out there for another man, while her own man, the male lead, suffers through it.
For my taste, there are WAY TOO MANY chapters of the love rivals' inner perspectives.

What really grinded my gears about the romance in this

For a romance manga called Haru x Kiyo.
It should be renamed to Shimura’s POV of Haru x Kiyo.

There’s a lot to be frustrated about with this one as you can read below me.

But to me, personally, the thing that really irritated me the most is the author pushing the MC, who had little to no back story, into the background.
And the love rival, who when present, which is A LOT, after he is introduced, into the MC of the story.
And And the female lead putting the cherry on top of my exasperation, doing that fucking thing where she’s really trying to put herself out there for another man, while her own man, male lead, endures it..There’s TOO MANY chapters of the love rivals inner perspectives for my liking.

Look I can dig love triangles..when it’s done correctly.

But for a short ass manga, it totally killed what was a great beginning to this story.

Out of 36 chapters. I think I felt the “fluff” from the main pairs romance a few times.

This turned into a story about the rejected bonafide stalker rivals inputs on Haru x Kiyo. And doesn’t even have a satisfying conclusion.

Starting of the going abroad arc

This Shoujo manga was quite unique and very enjoyable until the story started where the main lead was being a selfish jerk and the female lead is being okay with everything. It's rare for me to cheer for rivals in romance mangas but this one was exceptional. You most definitely find him annoying by the first 20 chapters but at the end of the story, you'll realize how good of a boyfriend he probably would have if she had accepted his proposal. The male lead was quite unique too. The story really got frustrated in the last 15 chapters. The comedy seemed like it was forced and the melodrama was very irritating. After the amazing start, I was expecting a decent ending but it rather took the usual bullshit route. Japanese people are known for being hostile towards outsiders and using their language. They don't usually go abroad for studies since Japan has one of best educational institutions but surprisingly in romance mangas, we usually get this bullshit in the last few chapters where the main lead is going abroad. Are they really so incapable to write a romance story without using the same lame excuses?

*Dropped after 20 odd chapters, the male mc seems so boring imo. Only read so much cause the female mc was to cute and her brother was a comedic bomb in every panel he was in. Maybe if I was in a mood for worse stuff I can see my self finishing it.6/10 *

Every chapter I keep thinking "this manga is weird". But not weird in a way that makes in unenjoyable. The way Koharu is drawn, with her bangs constantly in her eyes, almost makes her feel not real to me, and the pace is strange, events sort of bounce around and sometimes the emotional responses of characters are a little whiplash-y. But I still find myself reading the next chapter instead of sleeping. It doesn't break the shoujo mold entirely but it's quirky enough that it doesn't feel stale.

Not typical. Although of course this has been done before (lovely complex) this manga is still original. I enjoy mangas where the two begin as friends and then progress into a couple. Koharu is a cute lead and I find myself rooting for her. Funny and romantic: this is a step above your average crappy shoujo.
