Genuinely terrible

The plot moves at an incredibly stilted pace, one chapter will be about the wife learning to cook, the next there is an execution collar on every human in the kingdom threatening to decapitate them to grant an evil wish, then the next that whole mess is over and done with and the wish-granting villain who nearly killed his wife in addition to the near mass execution is one of the main characters now with effectively no punishment. Things happen just to make the plot move forwards even when they don't make sense both in and out of universe.

Normally you could make up for that with likable characters... but this ain't that. Each character has basically one character trait, and that's it. They also have moralities I could only describe as sociopathic, but the narrative paints them as good people. Especially bad is the MC who is so passive and detached that when he finds out he unintentionally murdered literal hundreds of sentient beings to a degree any serial killer would be jealous of, he gets mildly upset briefly and is over it in the next five panels. His wife also doesn't care despite the fact all those people were her friends, family, and comrades-in-arms. Speaking of her, her character trait is "loves the MC". Why does she love him so much? He nearly killed her, and then she decided being spared there was enough to devote her life despite the aforementioned death of her brother and everyone else she cared about at his hands.

Oh, and as an added bonus, the author decided to make one of the main characters, Hiya, a repeat rapist, but we're supposed to find it funny because it happens to a villain off-screen.

Fun but Flawed

Honestly, I liked this story much more than anyone else reviewing this (so far). Why?

There is no mindless harem. It may look that way if you're not paying attention, but at least as far as I've gotten, the only harem belongs to a side character.

The feeling is generally wholesome and I like the characters and their dynamics when interacting with each other.

The art is okay. No, it's not "bad". Is it special or worth noting? Absolutely not. But I've seen so much worse and I'm padding out my positive points a bit.

Because there's a fundamental flaw to the main character and (as a result) the main plot's goals that literally causes everything around it to not make sense: the main character wants to unite demons and humans and end the war.

Sounds generic, right? But a fundamental flaw that breaks the story? Well, here's some facts established early on:

Demons, in this world, cause/create dark magic just by existing. This dark magic is toxic to humans and, in high enough concentrations, is lethal. Unless they're a really strong demon, they will be unable to control leaking out dark magic.

That's right, in a world where 95% of demons harm and kill humans just by existing, and can't help it, the main character wants to force humans to cooperate with them and even live together.

Humans and demons are generally equally ambitious and greedy, too.

There is no reconciliation unless the main character can literally change the existence of all demons or all humans to stop making dark magic or otherwise not be negatively affected by it. Which could, maybe, be possible since the main character does have powers that put him into god territory.

But he doesn't know that and still wants to force humans to essentially drink poison.

The main character is broken, and the many other reviews will tell you how in other ways. This is a big problem that does break the story, and as much as I like it, there's no getting around the issues if this isn't one of those stories that you read despite knowing how bad it is.

Garbage

Deleted my review twice in a row when trying to change them because them placing "delete my comment" to the left, which is general bad design as that's usually where yes/accept buttons are to save changes. It also has no "are you sure" prompt. Sigh.

I wrote a lot, but can't be arsed to do so a third time.

Suffice it to say I found this again after 6 years by mistake and didn't recognize it, so I suffered through reading a bit and I'm now changing my review to 1/10, something this atrociously bad that makes me drop it twice doesn't deserve 5/10.

I'll just try to keep this short.

The protagonist is a moron, he believes his abilities are normal despite proof otherwise, he has no emotions about anything that happens to him even when people try to kill him he lets them go with at most a slap on the hand. He feels artificial at best, forced at worst. He's a raging hypocrite, killing an entire forest/huge army of sentient beings that he supposedly treats as equals as this is a big part of the setting. He has no real regrets about it, even if one can claim it was a mistake, it was a decision he made but no one blames him for it nor does he truly blame himself.

The girl is introduced after the first chapter and hooks up with him as his wife right away, not even a day after meeting because she tries to kill him for no good reason, fails, is spared and then thinks he's great because he's so nice to not kill her and so strong. Oh, and the people he killed by purifying the forest was her friends and family, but it's all fine because she blames them for not being strong enough. Gotta say both the protagonist and her are cold-hearted sociopaths and raging hypocrites to boot.

The system toddling him is an understatement, it asks him if he wants to do anything, like teleport, it shows him exactly where he needs to go, he doesn't need to even think because he can solve everything with magic he never tried to get nor deserved as he gets it all instantly. I've never seen a protagonist being spoon-fed to this extent.

You could also exchange the protagonist for a zombie just shuffling along and groaning and it would even improve the story because at least then there is a reason for his actions being brain dead.

The comedy falls flat every single time.

The art is bad, it looks decent at first glance but the characters feel dead, stiff and overly artificial instead of alive/animated and lively. It just gives a lethargic feeling.

It's a sad world we live in where this can get both a manga and anime while so many far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, FAR superior novels/manga don't get any real attention or get worse scores. I'm even an habitual offender of consuming trash fantasy stories, especially with somewhat OP protagonists, I just like it, it's a guilty pleasure, but who wants to self-insert as a hypocritical, justice warrior, mentally handicapped, toddled little baby that isn't interesting, funny, cool or deserves his powers even a little?

Goes slow route of OP character

While reading, I keep having this feeling of deja vu, like I've read the plot or similar characters somewhere, especially the wolf girl.

For plot, it feels a bit similar to Tate no Shield hero, but remarkably more boring. Part of why it feels so boring is... The OP is too strong, which makes most fights non-exciting.

Also, the plot was quite obviously in favor of the MC, and there was so much plot armor, that it was hard to feel the tension one should of a shounen series.

I feel that while this series simplified a lot of the world building compared to tensei slime, it has too much of touch and go regarding new concepts and worlds introduced. There's not really good exploration into each "arc" so there wasn't really an arc. Again, this is partly due to how OP the MC is but new villains keep popping up and old ones just fade into the background.

However, the pace is quite slow because this series keeps throwing slice of life elements which don't add on to the plotline, and sometimes even discontinuing existing plotlines.

Overall, quite a waste of the numerous plot devices the series has generated.

Bland isekai with good art and bad writing

It takes 5 seconds for MC to get a wife. There are other series that feature similar theme, but here it feels really cheap*. Characters are mostly uninteresting. MC actually builds up a harem of girls who are even more boring and remain underdeveloped. The series would not suffer if they were not present at all (MC's marriage doesn't leave room for romance with other girls anyway). The story isn't all that interesting. 2 opposing factions want MC to join them, but he just wants to chill (still ends up being involved and recruiting more girls).

On the bright side, the art is pretty. The series isn't super offensive or bad per see, it's just not good and kind of bland.

In other series girl might have a better reason for marriage, actually have personality, there might be relationship growth etc.

The good gets cancelled by the bad

Could have been:
-a relaxing fantasy slice-of-life,
-responsibility of power,
-comedy about of the other Hero's shenanigans,
-settling war and differences in cultures.

But mixing all that and not doing a single thing right while adding 'false' drama that gets ignored and interrupted by all the other things? It's a mess.

Depending on how you enjoy any moment from the series that doesn't ruin itself, it could range from a 3 to a 5.

harem simulator

It's a semi decent story but just follows a lot of the new age fantasy tropes of humanizing demons, yearning of a slow life in shopkeeping, and collecting one other older male character and at least five girls. Fulio/Filio/Banaza is the typical master strategist, who does not stand out from the other long haired Japanese isekai protagonists in any way. In other words, it'll likely be a perfect broadcast anime slotted into a non primetime block easily forgotten in five or so years,

Decent Art, Nothing Else

Like some have stated the art is good, but the plot is a fubar mess. And masks, I hate masks used as a plot device. Even more when sprinkled with full on cringe with cringy names.

Also never take someone serious that rate anything a 10. They even admitted the plot is lacking but still give it a 10. LOL This is far from a 10.
