Been tracking this series for the past ten years and man is it like reading treacle. There are some nuggets of good story here but completely bogged down by the horrendously plodding pace with stupid filler chapters that are irrelevant to the plot appearing way too often for a monthly manga.

Art is fantastic. Or at least way better than the story.
Story is utter garbage. The premise would have been good if the MC wasn't godly overpowered. There's no tension.

Terrible execution

It's like reading a sequel without reading the previous manga. The manga fails to show much about the MC's past yet relies on characters and events from the past for the plot. Fights are terrible because they're all low stakes, with the only barrier to instantly winning the fight being that the MC wants to keep his strength hidden. It starts off decent enough but by chapter 30 it's trash that gets worse the farther you read. This shit is boring and I couldn't give a fuck about any character whatsoever in the manga.

"All the players disappeared. But not actually, here's a list of players Schnee found but didn't bother to mention to the MC at all." You would think it'd be pretty high on the list to inform the MC of so he knows he's not the only player around, right? Apparently not. This manga stinks of asspulls just being crammed into the plot.

it's a decent isekai, but nothing amazing. there isn't really any thought put into this. No foreshadowing, no flashbacks, after every arc it's like a new . the art is nice and it's not bad to pass the time with

Got Worse and Worse

I picked this up looking for another Isekai to add to my list. It was pretty generic, but that was alright as I wasn't looking to have my socks blown off. I just wanted some manga comfort food, and this managed to provide just that... Until it didn't. The story has quickly devolved into focusing on the MC's growing harem. The plot has become entirely nonsensical, and it's mostly just there too push that harem forward.

I've been watching anime since people were streaming the first subs of Love Hina on winamp, and I've been reading manga for just about as long. It still absolutely boggles my mind how often we get stories like this. Ones clearly written by, and for men who have never had any real interaction with women.

This is not how women work. This is not how relationships work. This is not how you write a character of any kind.

It's a waste of time. The MC is powerful, has legendary grade inventory, making the nonexistent plot even more meaningless, since there are no challenge. Everybody loves him, I don't know why. He tries so hard to beat enemies without using full power and is a pathetic doormat used by women.

A quite generic isekai mmorpg manga that started off using twists on the classical tropes but seams to have run out of "innovative" ideas after 10 chapters, after that it's like any other OP MC manga out there with the unbearable harem and virgin-kun, by the way I'm pretty sure he's 20 years old.
As many say, the art-style is not great, its ok thou and I usually don't mention it when it's not bad but here the fights are quite messy and hard to understand what is going on too.
Other than that, storywise it doesn't have much going on, MC wants to go home, classic isekai stuff, makes sense but ain't that interesting, there is a new demon invasion or something in the boiling, too soon to tell, still not very interesting either. As for the characters, the MC is ok, at least he's not an idiot but for an all powerful guy he lets himself be ordered around a bit too much imo and is too good of a guy all of the time, I wouldn't mind a good guy but I would prefer seeing such powerful person getting angry when he needs to and putting people in their place or putting others a limit when he's not ok with something.
So, overall, another decent isekai with nothing really new going for it but that also doesn't do anything particularly bad, setting it at mediocre.

I hate:
•a nice little character transformed into the classical little girl silly to the point of stupidity, but of course, great power. Being a fox was good, why change it??
• not thinking in the women reading it: I know in everyfucking videogame women characters are almost naked, but I hate to see it even here. There is no line in readers: I like the idea of a virtual vrmmorpg, that's why I'm reading this, but I hate that every shōnen has almost naked women and the leader is a 14 year old boy that has power even more so than a 30 year old. That is wishful thinking. I wish they could relate to women reading manga for crying out loud.
•Art subpart: the classical chin that can open a can, the drawing is super copy paste.
•It is now a harem of a super powerful and unique 14 yo boy. Lame.

I actually like this quite a bit. I remember reading all of this in the novel around 2 years ago. It's a pretty interesting story with a mc that is likable and OP yet limiting himself a lot in front of others to avoid the worst of the trouble that comes along with getting found out as a legendary figure. It's pretty realistic to some extent and the characters feel real.

However, one of the big drawbacks in the manga version is the art, the princess looks extremely ugly and the rest of the females just aren’t that pretty even when they’re supposed to be super beauties. As for the males, I don’t care as much there, but it still bothers me how they’re kinda ugly as well. The biggest issue is probably that all of the characters feel weird and twisted, the expressions aren't natural, neither are the poses etc. Kinda sad, the story could’ve been more immersive if the art was better and yes, the art DOES matter, I will never be able to enjoy old manga even close to as much as I do newer manga even if the jokes and story is funny. Not saying the art style has to be the same as everyone else, but it has to be clean and nice with natural expressions that fit in if I am to enjoy it to the fullest. There’s actually novel illustrations with the stats etc included with the manga for some reason which shows how they SHOULD look, you’d get surprised at how different the art in the manga is at some points, like the princess who somehow got pimped up like a christmas tree with huge, swollen red lips and tons of makeup, making her look more like a slut than anything else despite being cool in the LN illustration. To be honest, the background art is nice and pretty clean even if the character art sucks, weird. I’d have to say I prefer the novel version since I can imagine everything for myself there and things just seem A LOT cooler than when illustrated by this person.

Other than that, the mc’s desire to return home pisses me off. I hope he’ll stop with that bullshit and decide to stay here, who in their right mind would leave a world where they’re all-powerful, have extremely long lifespan and has tons of friends and a life they could never even dream of in their original world? I always get disgusted by the logical fallacy of japanese protagonists wanting to “return home”. Come on. I’d understand if they were having a bad time or if they were actually just in a real game where everything is artificial, but they’re pretty much always living the life while getting more than anyone could ever wish for, making it impossible to relate to their supposed longing for the uneventful life where they can't affect anything and live day to day working hard while trying to get by with a normal salary and being completely worthless to everyone in the world. Back when I read the LN version of the new gate, just a few volumes was released(though it did cover everything that has happened thus far in the manga), but now pretty much three times as many volumes have been translated so maybe I can get the answer to if he plans to actually stay in that world or not like I’m hoping he will. Reading this manga got me in the mood to go back to the LN again and read all the new stuff, haha.

So, it's worth a read, no doubt about that, but expect nothing much from the art in the manga. Also, there are better novels and manga out there, but I still feel like it's a good one to read if you want something to waste some time on and you like the general idea of the story.

Edit: The manga is fairly good BECAUSE it's shallow and quick to read, you won't notice the glaring flaws as much. Just read the novel again and it's just NOT worth reading more than a few volumes of. Go for the manga version if you have a choice. Volume 5 and volume 10 are especially bad for the novel version, decided to drop it around volume 5 but I somehow kept up to volume 10 before truly dropping it because I was slighty interested in certain things and had nothing to read, but the romance just gets worse and worse and worse and the mc too, the story really turns out to be nothing but crap as well.

i like the manga although the art isn't that great, my only real problem is the translations have the wrong names for most people and places compared to the novel, plus the novel is at least 10 times better
