All of the men are extremely flawed that I just have to laugh at the absurdity of the situations that they put themselves in. The supporting female cast are girlbossing, though they are humans who aren't perfect either -- but with how trash the men are it's nice to see women who have agency and aren't reduced to just obstacles for the lover boys.
Cole is an absolute mental mess that is constantly on the verge on the edge of pulling a gun on someone (such is America, I really don't think he should have one but I'm not surprised he does). At the same time, he's too pathetic to actually follow through all the way with pulling the trigger which is relatable but messy and infuriating, yet I can't bring myself to hate him because of how over the top it all is. He's got a strong support system all things considered. I'll have to applaud him for that because not everyone can be so lucky.
Alex is very hot and is crazy to stick with someone who is as unhinged as Cole is, but the sexual chemistry between the two must be god-like with how often they break apart and then reform. He's far more confident and self assured when compared to Cole, but it seems like even he gets overwhelmed dealing with him at times. Doesn't help that he's bottling up most of his frustration and emotions.
I'm honestly in disbelief that the relationship manages to hold together in spite of how Cole does everything imaginable to fuck everything up for himself. It is an interesting relationship dynamic but I wouldn't dare ask to be in any of their places in real life.
Oh also Brad exists I suppose. He's not a real hurdle in the relationship between Alex and Cole but his involvement with Cole confused me because he doesn't want to break their relationship up(?) but he's always offering to smash Cole.
The vibes and influence is very America coded, Alex Rodriguez is literally the name of a baseball superstar. It's refreshing to see a different type of BL setting. And the sex is incredible horny and a bit goofy at times which is fun.
