The story idea is a little different as this villainess was not in love with the ML, it was the other way around. The story skims over this and instantly calls the FL a villainess which is weird. A soldier from an enemy country falls in love with her beauty and she gets forced into a marriage with him for peace, which is why she holds animosity for the ML.
This story oddly enough tells you why characters should act a certain way, but then doesn't let characters act according to the why. For example, the FL's backstory explains why she has been so mean to the ML, and informs us that this has been going on for 4 years now. The ML has had to endure the hatred of his superficial crush for 4 years and somehow he is written like a young teenager experiencing first love.
4 years of emotional turmoil and we don't even get a little bit of self loathing from the ML? How many people sit in a unrequited love for 4 years with their love interest deliberately crushing their heart and not once feeling like garbage for their own inability to let go of their love? It feels like the story is trying to show his anguish but it kind of misses the mark.
I sort of wish the FL wasn't a transmigrate in this situation as the OG FL seems way more interesting than the FL. The FL was an aspiring singer who worked way too hard. Her backstory isn't very interesting and the lack of challenges she has to face in this new world makes the whole story feel a little boring.
No one in the story as of 8 chapters is really interesting to keep me reading, and the plot is pretty much over since the ML likes her already and we know she will fall for him b.c... well... plot...This means it falls to the character interactions or at least the fan service to entertain its audience. The fan service is forced and cringe worthy, and the characters are not entertaining. Some stories it is a delight to have the ML or FL or a certain side character appear, but there isn't anyone like that at the moment.
As of now, 8 chapters in I would not recommend this to anyone, it might get better with more chapters, but I spent most of my time sighing and just wishing it would do better, so I don't know if I'll return to read this.
