Description

I don't know about the novel, but this manhwa has bad writing plastered all over the place. I'm still giving it a 5 though because I feel like if done better this could be a 9/10 story.

I'm on chapter 60 and the story keeps straying further away from its title LOL. I honestly went into this thinking it'll be a "modern medicine can do things magic can't" type of story but....

The main character is such a poorly written character. As others have said in this comment section, he says one thing and then does another. There is no consistency in his character. There is no drive either, so maybe that's why the character's development is soooo bad. I really thought the drive would be to spread modern medicine in this world, but no. It's quite heavy on politics and war.

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL SERIES AT ALL. Don't let the first few episodes fool you if you're looking for a medical series, bcs this one is not it. This story leans more toward the type of fantasy world politics that's been done by countless other webtoons, so don't go into this expecting that.

Inconsistent

Like everyone else said, it's bland and generic.
I could have done with it, but the inconsistencies aggravate everything:

- Being ok with being a saint while the title says otherwise

Goes to greatly length to save an elf even when the elder refuses because "we have to try to save everyone, I'm a doctor" -> first reaction to make a detour to heal the daughter of a noble : "please refuse !", then, when the saintess explain that she had no other choice than accept : "it's our job to heal people ;-) " you hypocrite / poorly written character !

the author explain more than once that he doesn't have mana circle because he's using the mana directly from outside, and the character knows, but "if I accept holy power, my mana circles will disappear and I won't be able to use mana, that would be too bad". Well, I didn't stay long enough to see how it will be done anyway, but please author, at least stay logical in your own worldbuilding.

It feels forced, and random..

There is sudden plot out of no where, a supporting females that pop up randomly, and fell in love with mc.
He want peaceful life but keep making decision that will messed up his peaceful life without thinking, like not disguising, being impulsive.

I mean, he put wooden sign that he will treat any sickness?? why he doesn't search healer clinic and work there ? why in the middle of street?? and some random noble woman ask for his help!

He seems really confident with his operation when he never done that in the new world, what if the new world rejecting him as a cult? what if the body there can't take operation?

He doesn't want to be saint, but he didn't disguise himself? not running away? doesn't tell his parent / consulting about the saint thing! he already knew his parent doesn't want academy take him! yet he witheld info that might seperate him and his family.

It feels a bit iffy, he decide on his own to treat comatose patient, when he was rejeced by 'elf relatives'.
He secretly went into patient's house, in the end he decided to use heal when his mana might make the elf died like the deer situation, but he decided to gamble.

What if the elf died? nope! the plot armor is there.

There is suddenly romance that bloom between him and elf, which is romance between doctor and patient? too rushed, forced and so random.

In the end he decided to randomly become a saint to go to Holy Empire to learn new diseases or how to treat someone..
He doesn't bother searching info about where he should learn, buy book or something..

What if in the Holy Empire there is only God Bible?? no diseases book?

It feels MC doesn't think much, random forced plot, forced plot armor, forced romance, also harem vibe (where there is only woman that reach out to him).

The only thing I like is his supportive parent.

Starts out with a fun premise: modern medical expert in a medieval fantasy world - but it drops that almost immediately and becomes a painfully generic Isekai wish-fulfillment fantasy with a laughable Mary Sue protagonist. The mc does stuff for no apparent reason and has no discernible personality.

Ironic title, waste of time

Basically mc does the opposite of what the title says and becomes a saint.
Mc is a wet sponge and as @chaoticorder said he goes with the flow
Most of the characters are dislikable especially the female saint who had a 180° change in personality from evil to good.
Very average plot with trends that are seen across other Isekai manwha's like overpowered mc, annoying female characters etc.
Only positive is the mediocre comedy

Also, magic is a plus.

Not sure if it's for impatient people though. It's normal pace to me.

It really annoyed me that for a series called “To Hell With Being a Saint, I'm a Doctor”, the main character does very little to fight become a saint. Nor dose he do anything to rebel once he becomes one. He is very go with the flow. Even when some dumb rule related to being a saint is brought up, rather than trying to change the archaic rules to make things better, he just kinda goes “huh, I guess that is how it is” and the problem is dropped.

The story is rather generic otherwise. Not bad but not great either.

What Happened to the Art After Ch. 2?!

The art style dramatically changed and quality dropped after chapter two, becoming less vibrant and clean. What happened?! My best guess is there was a last minute artist change, which is truly unfortunate, and I don't believe the current "Artist(s)" data reflects this.
