The ending was fitting, although I will admit I was desensitized reading story's with more horrify endings than this one, making this look like it had a happy ending.
Sadist masochist isn't really my thing unless portrayed in a comedic manner but I laughed a little in the beginning. Only because it can be a bit silly and I can't take the story seriously sometimes. I don't even know if the author and artist themselves were taking it seriously.
It makes a good binge read but I suggest not taking your time with it.
** Warning before reading ** :
The male lead is not just a bully but an actual psychopath, the story implies that it happened through genetics considering both his parents are themselves psychopaths. Neither raising him properly, encouraging these behaviors. He gets his emotional coldness from his father and his aggressive behaviors from his mother.
Almost near the end of the series it is suggested that the female lead was trained to be the way she is by her father and she may have in fact had no clear understanding of love. We were better off thinking she actually liked it but it seems all the abuse she tried to endure made her insane.
In a way Woohyun did "love"Ha Yan, don't let his words fool you when he talks to the cast, he is capable of lying. It better to pay attention to his actions. He's really possessive of her but because he know how she is he uses reverse psychology to get her to stay his. It was revealed the whole time he was indeed jealous.
I enjoyed it as it was entertaining for the yandere content.
Although I was disappointed that she only ended up whining to get him back, she really was off her rocker. If the series wanted to continue it could, like Woohyun getting revenge on his mother and father and somehow add Ha Yan into the mix. That would be good closure for the end of the series but where it ended was meh.
I give it a five out of ten because I don't think it explored it's full potential.
The blond guy kind of ruined were the story was going to be honest. At first it sets him up as a serious problem but then you realize he was a waste of time and didn't really pose a threat. The betrayals didn't feel earned either, and we're lazily written .
Also the synopsis makes it sound more exciting than it actually was. I mean sure I enjoyed it but it never really felt Woohyun and Ha Yan were on an equal playing field because one it was too short. When things felt like they were getting good too many characters interfered ruining the vibe. Some characters where too flat making the situation seem like not that big a deal, such as rumors, side characters tossed to the side or barely used.
