I loved this series so much! It's just so wholesome and the characters are sincere and lovable. You can't help wanting to root them all on! I need more sweet and calming elements like this in my life, haha. Can't recommend this enough!

While i like the mc and femc, in this manga, they dont really tackle any issues that they may stumble upon in their relationship. So far everything is painted as a perfect world. Friends dont fight with one another, they dont talk about the issues they are facing, they dont say much about their views on the relationship other than "omg u guys are so perfect". Another thing is that the characters ooze selflessness. I understand that some people are selfleness. But it makes the manga appear even more unrealistic.
You should not stand in the limelight in any way you can ( example when the gf had the cat and was like dont worry, and bolted off, ch 85)
If this manga wanted to be more realistic, it would benefit more if they made the characters more selfish, as that is something that I beleive many people can relate too. Whereas their selfleness actions make it hard to do so

The male leads not that bad. At least not to me. There are so many abusive male leads that treat their girlfriend like plan B. So it's refreshing when such a male lead that at least cherishes his girlfriend.
I don't think all girls need bad boys based off what I've experienced in real life.

Although I feel this is more for guilty pleasure and the protagonist leans toward the self insert for the experience. I really don't expect much from slice of life type series. Maybe it will or won't go somewhere. I'll come back every now and then. But it's not one of those mangas you have to read. I think the best thing is the art because its really good, was hard to adjust my eyes to at first since I'm use to manga not being all shiny and fancy unless it's cover art. Since I've seen my fair share of the bottom of the barrel it's safe to say this isn't trash, just not for everyone. It's romance is good it just needs to work on character depth so it feels less like an otome/ visual novel and like a more proper fantasy .
There are levels to boring and this is comfy boring. I'm just glad the romance didn't take long or that would be extremely boring.

So what I catch about the main premise of this story is: The cute girl is actually cooler than her boyfriend.
The problem is, the boyfriend is nowhere near cool. Another thing is that the portrayal of the main heroine being cool is heavily rely on her 'mean eye sight' which getting old after 2-3 chapters.

It's more interesting to follow secondary characters like Nekozaki, Hachimitsu or Kamiya and Isana. Also MC's parents are made into quite a colourful bunch, with interesting interaction.

And yes, it's really wholesome. Handholding is intense here.

9 volumes - so far no actual kisses has been done even. FYI

The romance is cute, and it's undeniably deserving of its high ratings.

...but, you know, you have to be ABLE to appreciate that gender-roles aren't the norm, if not reversed. In this case we have a truly awesome FMC, willing and able to go out and protect her man, be proactive, but still super cute and feminine. And no, that's not at all an insult. She can be proactive and feminine, but the MC can't do the same thing? He can't be caring and kind and still be masculine? Nope, apparently not. He's a total and complete wimp. Admittedly, it's part of his character setting that he's 'unlucky', but unlike, say something from a standard battle type shounen, he doesn't toughen up at all. He's downright pathetic. He's a herbivore, and is constantly being protected, and never seems to grow.

I'll be honest and say I dropped at like 20 chapters, so I can't say beyond that, but that's still a couple of volumes in, and enough to get a grasp on the series. I dropped it when he got jealous of his GF for being popular. He's a stereotypical beta protag that I personally despise. Maybe he does grow, but to be frank I'll doubt it ever happens because while cute, the entire premise of this manga seems to be 'herbivore MC is protected by his awesome GF, who then shows unbearably cute sides'. So frankly if he ever grew to be more of a character the manga would stop from being a one-trick-pony, and turn into a gimmick less story.

So yeah, I can see why people like this, and I wouldn't call it overhyped, just that... it's not my cup of tea.
