Description

Ever since he was a child, Prince Uriel has always dreamed of searching for the lost city of Rowadis rumored to be buried somewhere deep in the desert. One day, he manages to sneak out of his country to join an excavation party in the hopes of learning more about his beloved Rowadis. However, the barren land turns out to be a dangerous place for the prince and he is captured by the savage Seldira clan. Already one of my new favorites! It’s such a journey reading it, and really important for characters knowing one another to fully understand who they really are. Ald is really hot (and literally is) and so are other characters. Yuri is too cute being a tsundere. I also want more of a side story of Alvie and Badis.

There were two or three incidences of sexual assault and abuse in the first chapter and the start of the second. They’re not long chapters either. I couldn’t keep reading, personally. I didn’t finish the manga so I didn’t rate it.

Regardless of looking cliche'd, it was a nice read. The art wasn't absolutely gorgeous, but it wasn't average either. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score is because of the undertones of a spin-off or something about the supporting characters but with no apparent sequel. Still, I would recommend this to those exploring the smut side of yaoi. 🙂

EDIT: OK. I just found out about an extra and well, I recant my rating hahaha! Badis is hawt.

I liked this! Ald was an absolutely lovely and unexpectedly sweet romantic lead, though, as other commenters have noted, that chest baring scene made me squawk with laughter. My only woe is that I saw too little of the wonderful side characters Alvie, Madeek and Badis - I really wish that Alvie Badis mini story the previous commenter spoke of was available as well!

Beautiful story

I know the whole "foreigner travels to Arabia, gets kidnapped, falls in love with kidnapper" plot is overdone in yaoi these days, but I think this one gets a pass. Ald isn't as forceful as someone from Tamaquis Wren's stories, for example, and Yuri genuinely wants to be there. The plot reminds me a little of Zhang Ziyi's storyline in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", just without the rape.

The limited release edition of the tankobon comes with a mini-booklet, and one of the stories is about Alvie and Badis. I'm really glad that Alvie gets a little happiness in the end, since he was dragged along with Yuri. This extra story is enough to bump my rating up to a 10, but since it's not scanned, I'll settle with 9.5.

I feel bad for Yuri, though- Ald is a monster. How the heck can the poor kid stand in the morning? For that matter, how can Ald walk without falling over?

It was seriously nice, art for one thing, was gorgeous!
The author seems to be new in town, glad to have her work in my collection of hot guys 😉
The story was good, compared to other Mediterranean yaoi mangas, this had more depth and 'sandy' feel to it.
Although I did wish the story could've gone on for more than one volume what with

the author focusing more on the mystery Rosa that the Seme was so interested.

All in all, a pleasant read.
RECOMMENDED.

I really liked this although it was a bit simplistic. I thought it was just so cute! I loved the characters development though it was fast paced I thought it to for the most part very realistic. I really adored the characters relationship at the end and wanted the manga to be longer.

For what this manga was trying to do, I give it a 9.5 because it did it magnificently. For the plot sticklers out there, FINE, this is not a nobel prize winning piece of literature, but it was a really fun read! I enjoyed every single bit of it. You know a manga is good when you get completely wrapped up in it to the point of "reality deafness" haha
The art was fantastic with the desert scenes and the horses, and it was not just straight sex but actually came up with a pretty solid plot.

...That being said, the sex--when it appeared--was pretty fab... Naughty bits were UNCENSORED (none of those stupid black or white bars lol on a side riff, is that supposed to make the penis anonymous like an eye bar? idk...) with some majestic peen, so enjoy that boys and girls ;P My ovaries barely made it out alive after reading this manga... You will understand this once you see the scene where

Ald rips his shirt off, buttons flying everywhere in the heat of passion... nosebleed .

Fun historical romance

Tsuki to Yabanjin is quite unusual for a BL manga because it is a single-volume historical romance with a clear plot arc. The episodic style of storytelling favoured by Sera in Ousama ni Kiss — and yaoi manga in general — is absent. Instead, the reader is treated to an old-fashioned romantic adventure told in the best bodice ripper fashion.

Uriel is the classic hero(ine) archetype, a young man with strong moral convictions and an innocence that inevitably attracts the attentions of a dark and brooding alpha male. Ald fulfils the functions of his role admirably: he is arrogant and dangerous, but also fiercely protective and incredibly (I mean that in both senses) tender when Uriel goes wandering off a cliff (for example). And, of course, Ald is a champion in the sack. Actually, he’s kind of a monster in the sack, which the reader is left in no doubt of thanks to a complete lack of genital censorship in the early chapters. Um, thanks?

Good, not great..

There's only so much your average stockholm syndrome yaoi can offer. The fact that it was set in Africa might have been nice but there wasn't enough of the actual culture explored here to make it interesting. It was all very superficial and pretty much made up... Same goes for the archaeology theme though I quite liked that idea, just wish it was developed even further. What I did like about this story was that, compared to other kidnapping yaoi stories where the helpless uke falls in love with his (often sadistic and repulsive) captor, I found the seme to be quite a sweetheart. So the romance to me was enjoyable and I didn't even roll my eyes at it once! I did wish the uke would've been more agentive since first it seemed like it was his choice how everything would end. But no. Ugh. But I felt better after reading the chest-baring scene. I totally agree with astroasis about the award and remembered that comment reading it. I laughed out loud! So funny...
