old comment:
Still early days, though (only read 13 of the 15 current chapters)
edit: @ch16 re-read from the beginning, it's interesting seeing the beginning after knowing their backstory. I think I'll bump it form 8->8.5
It's funny and cute and kinda nice how assertive they can be.
EDIT @ COMPLETION
This is superb. At no point during these 42 (+2 epilogue) chapters did it fail at what it attempts or decrease in quality.
This was just...consistently a really great series. I know many disagree but I truly believe this was superior to her previous series That Time I Was Blackmailed by the Class's Green Tea Bitch and that it shows her growth as a writer and artist. I remember at the time being upset that she left Green Tea Bitch (with her planned ending) and said she may return when she finishes her next series. I was thinking 'well, I hope the next series ends quickly!' But no, now I'm just grateful. This was...incredible, overall. Consistently fun with enough deep moments and depth tot eh main couple, who are also incredibly likeable even as they (moreso the autistic Jiang) fuck up.
There's one downer chapter that's a bit of a mood kill where we get glasses' girl''s backstory, but it also is a good thing overall cos in too many romance series the side-characters feel under-developed. And it concurrently develops another character.
This series starts as a fun bit of gay panic with a likeable duo with a very fun rivalry, art that perfectly complements the series and its well-interspersed comedy and misunderstandings.
Then you get Shen's backstory. That when I felt like the series had more substance than just a fun 8/10.
Jiang's backstory, too.
I read 17-42+epilogue in one go and at the start I was thinking 'Yeah, this is definitely at least a 9.' Then when I read 42, the 'final' chapter, I was thinking probably a 9.5, debating giving a 10 because this series was, in a sense, flawless.
Then I read the first epilogue chapter. Damn, I thought it was just gonna be a senseless fluff epilogue but nope. The series ends incredibly powerfully and yes, I think it's right I rate it a 10.
tl;dr I loved it. Read it.
