It's okay for an isekai story. Despite it being categorized as ecchi, the fanservice is very light. Ayl does go around in bikini armor, but most of the time there's very little attention put on her revealing outfit.
As the title states, this story doesn't really get going plot-wise until chapter 15. Before then, it meanders a lot and is more of an aimless slice of life with an interesting concept.
Art is appealing, characters are interesting, and overall it's a manga I find myself slightly enjoying. Not a masterpiece, not even particularly good, but a palatable Isekai... sort of. Way too much fan service.
Frustratingly, the MC refuses several attractive women who want to form a relationship with him, and he constantly refuses them for no reason given and seeks out a brothel for no reason given.
You would think the reader could be told something useful, like maybe he had a relationship that ruined a friendship and that's why he doesn't want to take an open offer?
But no, the author just can't seem to bother with basic storytelling principles. This is either bad writing or bad editing. Either way, I'm now of the understanding that this story is willing to throw away everything it has going for it to try and be like every other isekai.
Dropped my rating.
This story had an interesting start - exterminating rats, insects etc. in a fantasy story is certainly an original concept. But there's no overarching plot or motivation for the protagonist, so the story quickly becomes lolrandom.
There are also the unfortunate "fan service" scenes (almost hentai) which don't fit into the rest of the chapters. Well-done fan service can be fine in a story that's otherwise full of flirting, sexual tension etc., but here it's just incongruous, as if the author had a hentai quota for each chapter.
It's pretty good and I found it to be a worthwhile read. However, it's not all good. The thing that pisses me off the most is the mc's lack of reactions and overall spirit. He's a lethargic character that has little to no reactions about anything. He just levels up and has zero interest in anything going on around him. He didn't manage to even understand that levels existed or anything else before he leveled up a crazy amount instantly and got questioned by people.
It's not that he doesn't work, he does work and makes sure to be thorough and proper about it, doing his best. But he's always having that bored and sleep-deprived look on his face as he shows no interest in anything but his own interests, it's to the point of dumping companions for no good reason and refusing to reply to women who likes him. His reaction when his newly saved slave took off her clothes and mounted him on the bed is "Oh, what are you doing? Oh, I see, you're a slave, I guess this isn't a big deal. Nah, I don't really feel like doing it with someone I have no feelings for" all while showing zero emotion or reaction. This is a repeating pattern.
He's also not the sharpest tool in the shed. He has issues understanding anything even remotely complicated and lacks the motivation to care. He also doesn't have any particular goals, he just wants to travel without any goals as he keeps on with his lifeless lifestyle.
This is barely worth 7/10, I just enjoyed it somehow. However, I can say this: never read the original novel. This is NOT something that works well in novel format, it barely worked decently in manga format because unnecessary parts are skipped and the progress is crazy fast, you also don't have time to get tired of it as you finish reading it too fast.
