Description

A story of a young man who lacks a sense of reality after being dumped by his lover. He was visiting a seminar on cultural anthropology with his fellow classmates when he discoveres an ancient wall painting, which transports him to the past where mammoths dominated the world.

Another manga by Mouri Koji (Holyland, Suicide Island)

Such a refreshing manga set in prehistoric age with element of time travel

At first, i was looking for history thamed manga, was suprised to found this manga by the mangaka who made Holyland and Sucide Island.Everytime he make manga, he incorporate diffrent thame, awesome.
Ok into the manga itself.

SPOILER AHEAD
Story wise, the premise is intersting. Time travel is not that uncommon, rather its very popular. But time travel to the prehistoric time, now that something you rarely found.
At first, the story focus on how MC and his group of friend cope and adapt with the strange situation they were in.
After that, this modern human meet the prehistoric human, which is homo sapiens and neanderthal. Slowly, Taiga and his friends influence the prehistoric people life, especialy in their technological advance. Seems like the modern human will help prehistoric human to have a better life, all seems good.
But, suprise, there was another group of people who get send to the past, and guess what? they are nazis haha.
Such pecuilar choice, atho for me personaly its not suprising considering the hints in the story have given long before. (colour vs white)
After that, well see this two group of modern human that got send back to the past influence the society of prehistoric homo sapiens and neanderthal.
Atho we already can already roughly guess the outline of this rivaly, the way Kouji Sensei deliver and develop the story and each chapter is something that I look forward to cause its interesting.

On side note:
There might be scene where reader feel uncomfortable which few user mention already, which is rape. So one of MC friend get raped by the enemy. But so far, only that one time, not many time like what some user are saying. And altho its a cruel, this event are important point that effect the character development. Cause unlike many mid manga, in this manga, atho Taiga is the MC, other character are shown to have their own personality and presence. And their character develop gradualy as the story progress. Their action actualy effect the story, so they are not just cameo in this manga.

Another side note
About the finer detail, about the technique and battle strategy.
MC is basicly civilian. The only plus point he have are he know martial arts. Meanwhile, his enemies are full fledged soldier at the peak of WW2. Their battle and tactical experience ofc is vastly diffrent.
Some people which seems to really knowledge in history of battle seems to downright despise this manga because its not "historicaly accurate". IMO, this is manga, you cant expect 100% acuracy, even if its something that fall into ''historical manga". Its bit sad actualy if people stop reading manga because of this small detail.
*So far, I read until ch 95 *and I really enjoy this manga.
Its a refrshing read that maybe not really that mainstream (read: isekai). Intersting story with good premise. And character development still well written.Oh and maybe to add some plus point, I havent see deus ex mechina plot element in this manga. Maybe there are few instence, but its subtle.

So, overall, a great manga and refreshing story. Must read especialy if you looking for manga with historical element

A potentially great premise, but over time it just seems to lean further and further into a wish fulfillment fantasy for the protagonist to the point where it becomes implausible and frankly made me cringe, although I hate to use that word.

I pretty much do not give out 10s. This story is my 10/10. If you read the description chances are it is what you were hoping for and more. Even the best story isn't for everyone, but I believe no matter who you are, as long as the description sounded interesting to you, you should give it a try.

The worst History students ever

5/10 simply because they're history students, AND YET they're dual-wielding swords. They should know better that it's a very stupid idea, a shield and a spear are always better. Staying alive and maintaining formation > two swords. There's no armor so big swords are pretty useless, and why the fuck would you use a sword against unarmored opponents? They're history students, they should be able to drill basic military formations into the ooga boogas, a simple Phalanx would rekt the Nazi Neanderthals

AND NO, IF YOU HAVE TWO SWORDS YOU CAN'T HIT TWICE AS FAST. And somehow these idiots know how to advance the civilization to the iron age with ass pulls

Lost the plot with the Neanderthal Nazis.

Neanderthal. Nazis. Enough said. Real uber-not-even-mensch there. Along with this there's also a lot of little things that don't make sense. Like the way these almost graduates who studded prehistory seem clueless and act inconsistently regarding tech. Earlier in the story they're tangling with megafuna with short spears instead of simply making an atlatl (which they should be able to easily craft because its established that they're capable of the of the much harder flint knapping). These same people who couldn't make a simple atlatl are capable of singlehandedly advancing humanity to the iron age. Also, their shield handle is dumb.

A Refreshingly New Premise

This series is overall, an excellent series that not only provides readers with an exciting story but also a creative and fun way for the casual reader to learn history!

Taiga and Co.'s journey in transforming from a group of run-the-mill college student to neolithic survivors is a remarkable show of character growth. Readers see the characters undergo a gradual personal evolution in each of them as they gripe with how they have to discard their conventional modern sense of morality and technological dependence to survive. You will see how they grow to learn to cooperate with the allies they discover along their journey for survival and integrate with others to from a unique new community in order to face the dangers of the prehistoric world around them.

In addition to this gripping narrative, this series teaches readers about history and give a believable depiction of how life was before humanity developed the hallmarks of high 'civilization' in a more simple, but also more brutal, time. Through some topics and crafts the series introduces are disjointed in time, the explanations of the historical innovations presented by the series helps readers learn more about the impact such tools had.

With regards to the criticisms regarding the series depicting rape in the plot, I believe that the author's inclusion of said topic is not inappropriate. Through such depictions of such events are always disagreeable and abhorrent, the portrayal and inclusion of rape is believable considering the setting. Morality is a relative construct that is the product of social agreements and understanding; in a era without philosophy, religion or laws, any actions (no matter how atrocious) is a possibility. Furthermore looking at our own history there are countless examples of rape in human societies. Ancient and classical societies commonly viewed rape to be merely another form of intimidation or control (War Rape i.e. Rome, Kushans, Avars, Huns) while others practiced what is, essentially, a long-term arraignment built upon rape in the form of kidnapping for wives/concubines (Classical period Germania, Gauls, Kyrgyzstan, Rome, Arabia). Even in historical periods where morality had long been established, rape was not entirely uncommon during periods of mass upheaval or chaos (Soviet occupation of Berlin, Partition of India, Vietnam War). Also I believe that the depiction of rape in the story was in no way fetishizing the act of rape(s) and presents the act as a very wrong thing to do in a moral sense.

so... Suicide Island author.... yeah.... nah it's a no a totally completely no but the first chapters (54)....was a interesting manga and dont get me wrong im a adult man and yes the world its a shit but the author always focus on rape yeah rape rape rape and in a way that he try to make it "sexy??" its a disturbing thing, it doesnt give anythig to the series more that show the cruelty of the antagonists, so what put it in that way?
Simple my friends you stay here and the only plot is trying to figure out what kind of weed the author smokes

btw my english is a crap like this and i give it 1/10 cuz there are no neg scores so enjoy your 1

There is something exhilarating in this plot. Watching the main character awaken his primal senses. Very interesting plot also. The best thing, no lolis, no isekai, no over-powered characters and other shenanigans.

10/10.

I don't understand people with such attitude... It's basically 'realistic' story in stone age, if you are triggered by such acts go read typical isekai story. You won't get mc befriending entire world with some bullshit reason. Hiding things like rape, murder and overall cruelty won't make those things dissapear. This manga is seinen and obviously it's for mature readers. There is another one with less chance to encounter politicaly incorrect content which is shounen.
Rape scene is in 55th chapter...
