Top Notch Madcat Fan TL

Found this gem when I was reading through other works Madcat did. I loved the hilarious way the protag talks, have not seen anything quite like it. It was cool, it was funny, exactly like I would imagine some ten thousand year old undying immortal cultivator would talk. Between the arachic speech, the occasional deep philosophical insight, firm moral character, and the spicy way he dresses down mofos, this created one of the most memorable protags I've ever seen. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this manhua. Would rate this higher if madcat didn't stop after c198, as the machine tl quality after made it unreadable afterwards.

Looking at the other comments, I wonder if this is the sort that made madcat miffed. Evidently most did not grasp the messages hiding between the lines. This is an exaggerated and ironic take on the follies of modern society that's too focused on materialism and social standing. The pointlessness of spending thousands on luxury brands to keep up with the joneses when you should be treasuring the relationship with your family and basic human virtues. The protag as a distant immortal, smacking everyone around is a story telling device that strips away that foolish self important social facade that judges people solely on their wealth. You're suppose to feel antipathy for the antagonists, they're an example of what NOT to do, not an example of normacy. When the MC arrives to serve their comeuppance, it represents their bad deeds coming home to roost and the karma they've sown completing its cycle.

I believe the way Madcat did the translation was good and did an even better job at highlighting this contrast than the original. It's unfortunate that it went over so many people's heads. I have not finish going through all of Madcat's content but from the stuff I've read, this and Hail the King are the best jobs he's done. So for those of you who enjoyed this title, I recommend you give Hail the King a try as well.

I'm not here to talk about this series but the scanlation group that translated the first 200 chapters 'MadCat Scanlations'
I saw all kinds of trash translations but 'MadCat Scanlations' takes this to another level, or precisely; another dimension...
tons of panels are actually made up,
you will see that MC is very arrogant calling himself "this venerable one" and calling others "mortals" etc,
there is nothing like that in the source, it's all made up,
overall there are tons of omissions and tons of nonsense arrogant additions,

if you read this MTL you'll understand it much better.

Between the ridiculously bad translation, outrageously horrible dialogue, and batshit insane characters, I actually found this one rather enjoyable, in a "so bad it's good" kind of way. I think that once you stop taking this manhua seriously, you'll be able to enjoy it too.

Some choice quotes from the MC (all typos are from the original):

"Apologize? This lord does not apologize to anyone, the mountain does not bend over to the rivers and lakes. Especially worth trash like this mortal called yang shaokun. Ugh..disgusting. Just the thought makes me want to kill him. You bore me harlot, leave me be."

"This venerable one is not pleased. Today, you have to give me sufficient reparations for this act againts my sovereign domain, otherwise, the consequences shall be devastating for you so mark my words! This is my ultimatum!"

"Does this venerable one showed enough strength for you, puny mortal? Bow down in awe before my supremacy! What is your next move human"

"You are in the precense of a godking, this immortal does not care for human code of conduct or it's laws."

"Yes, this esteemed one could use a couple of minions to run my errands...with these ants at my side, I can abuse them to my hearts content! Wonderful idea!"

"Mother harlot, whore of babylon! Demonic abominations that deserve to be cleansed by my tianzun one day! This venerable one will clean up all of you!"

Childish, for pre-teens, maybe

As the people below say, the broken translation and sheer amount of retards that just go to pester the MC to be inevitably face-slapped without him even making an effort is reason enough to think twice about reading this. I found the wacky speech and how the MC was above the pettiness of mortals to bother replaying or bothering correcting them to be somewhat interesting... unfortunately the MC, while maintaining his aloofness will soon be like any other pedantic MC in the urban cultivation genre, he'll kill, humiliate and make suffer those who insult him as any other.
And yet that's not the worst thing if you'll believe it, the worst thing is the immaturity and childishness of the author, after the infamous 100ch mark you'll be reading the (rather pathetic) antagonists debate on who has the better car, or clock, or house, or access to a vip, or connections or to put it more bluntly who pees the furthest and has it bigger, that's the base of the story when you boil it down to it... I'm kind of ashamed to admit I read that far.

Don't bother reading if broken sentence structure annoys you, here are some examples from the first chapter, .
"this is all my i have in my savings" "where did you went and die!?"

Why even bother translating it into English if you're so committed to do such an awful job of it...

Only reason it get a 2 and not a 1 is because i'm sure someone out there can at least get a laugh at the poor English.
