i feel like the webtoon was extended around chapter 30 and then cancelled towards the last 15 chapters. such a let down. very gimmicky

It's one of those stories that could have easily been wrapped up, but they drag out the problems for the sake of extending the story.

Once George is arrested and then murdered, Lyana could have had Lizabeth killed as well. The Emperor even said that he would back her up and have Lizabeth put to death at any time. Lyana says she's only keeping Lizabeth alive so as not to upset her already fragile and sickly father. But then Lizabeth murders the father only a chapter later, and Lyana suspects it's her. And yet she still doesn't have Lizabeth killed and let's Lizabeth marry the Emporer as well. Lizabeth continues to taunt Lyana to her face, including referencing poisoning her and Lyana just sits there and takes it. It makes no sense.

Initially, it seems like the typical revenge story, but after chapter 30, things take an odd turn.

I'm curious to see where things go, and I have a few theories, but I'm worried with this new obstacle that, things are going to drag on.

I'm also confused on the Emperor's feelings. It seemed like he fell in love with Lyanna at first sight and practically says no one else can compare to her and is giving her puppy dog eyes, and now it's he's all lukewarm due to the newly introduced obstacle. I can't tell if he has some master plan or if he's just dedicated to his duty as Emporer.

It's unclear if Lyanna has any feelings toward him. Her main focus is bringing down her cheating husband and crazy sister, so I don't think she's in love with the emperor at this point.

The husband and sister are both terrible people. The husband, George, is basically a spoiled brat who wants to make a name for himself but constantly embarrasses himself with his bratty behavior.

And the sister, Lizbeth, is jealous of her sister and basically wants to be seen as number one and take what she thinks she is owed. She is also a spoiled brat, and I'm not surprised by her reaction in this last chapter to the obstacle. Nor am I surprised by George's. Honestly, the two deserve one another.

I'll probably keep reading because it is entertaining, but I hope it's not one of these manga that ends up with an unsatisfying ending.

The translation is awkward, but it's in English. This story is messed up. I won't spoil it, but if you are wondering if it's worth reading more, then here you go. Still debating whether I will continue to torture myself.

Not to bad until it drags

The story reads like a summary of a laundry list, bad people (check), good people (check), good people seek revenge on bad person (check), FL and ML fall in love for no reason (check). Its a rather straight forward story with no fluff...at least until about ch 30 where they introduced (you could say forced) a new obstacle into the story.The obstacle is not the issue, but the presentation of the obstacle and the excuse given for why this is now an obstacle in the story is where the issue lies. You end up with characters like the prince saying he is going to tell the world a secret, something that would never be an option to tell without the power of author said so conveniences.

The story isn't bad, but once you reach ch 30 it stops making any sense as things heavily tilt into the realm of b.c author said so territory.
