Based on the other review I was initially a little worried it would be one of those stories with the trash asshole ML and the doormat FL who's only good at crying and being rescued, but it's not like that at all, I don't know why the rating is so low for this series. I'm 24 chapters in and it's surprisingly good so far.
The ML starts off acting like a jerk, but once you find out more about the circumstances, I'd say his attitude makes a lot of sense. Once the FL gains his trust, he still has a sharp tongue, but it's pretty clear he's actually just a big old tsundere, and the FL doesn't get easily discouraged or hurt by his words, she's surprisingly resilient and has an optimistic outlook despite the pretty dark situation, even when the ML himself has given up all hope.
You see the ML really start to be obvious about his feelings after
she dies. During the time she was dead before he died again and regressed once more, her death absolutely destroyed him,
and while he's still tsundere,
! he's slowly opening up more and is more upfront about his concerns for her safety rather than just attempting to push her away.
I mean, if you just in general don't like tsunderes, you probably won't like the ML, but I like them as long as they're not colossal assholes (he's not), and the FL can pick up on his little blushes and such and isn't constantly getting hurt by what he says.
The romance aside though, the main plot itself is also really interesting, there are some Hamlet-like vibes (hopefully the ending won't be anything like that though lmao), and the mystery and supernatural elements to it keep it engaging and make me impatient for more chapters, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this will all unravel.
