The story centers around Yui, a high school boy who often goes with the flow of those around him, which typically ends up with him going along with things he doesn't agree with. In these situations, he is fed up with his inability to do anything but say no.

On the other hand, there's his eccentric classmate Haru, who is completely unable to read between the lines. Then, a certain incident leads Yui to lash out at Haru, "Read the room! Do you know what it means to ’play along'? That's how you create good relationships with people," to which Haru responds, "How meaningless."
