Please prioritize the release date in the magazine/original distribution date and don't change the year after the volume comes out. Use the volume release year if no serialization information is found. Logically, if you use the release year for volume that will be released later, the gap will be too big and make the series look like it just came out when it wasn't (imagine long serialization). This applies to new titles. All publisher editorial accounts have started to open up marketing their series digitally (e.g: social media or web-based magazine) so it's only natural to use the date provided.

For compilations of author's works, they are distributed in various issues with different dates so the volume release date can be used when it comes out. Users come and go to fix so please check together with the correct info.
