Ayano Yamane is a female cartoonist who lives in Osaka, Japan. She is only 5'4" (161 cm) and her family consists of her father, mother, a brother and a pet dog. She was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in 1977. Her hobbies include painting and drawing, reading manga, playing video games especially Final Fantasy 7, and traveling. Her favorite foods include karaage, cheese, Chinese, and tempura. Yamane is one of the people in the world who does not like cilantro because it tastes like soap. Her least favorite foods are sweets. Yamane considers herself to be an optimistic person. Her favorite kind of uke to illustrate are rambunctious like Takaba from Finder. Her favorite kind of seme archetype are manly and intelligent with glasses. She considers her moe weakness as oyaji (older man) and borderline shota (youngerish looking).

In side notes, bonus material and afterwords she likes to draw her self-portrait as a badger/weasel. Two of Yamane's manga have become OVAs (direct to video anime), such as Finder and Ikoku Irokoi Romantan. Ayano Yamane has stated her favorite color is red and you can see it many times in her paintings. She prefers to spell her name in hiragana, but in kanji it is properly spelled as "山根绫乃". Yamane-sensei's books sales are so popular, she has made the top comic sales in Japan multiple times for BL.
